Well, I'm finally taking the plunge and starting to modify car more extensively. It's my daily driver, but I want it to be a little more fun. Previously the car had a BBK intake and Hurst shifter (the car came with those when I bought it). Also, I traded a guy trunk lids and got rid of the rear spoiler. I then added an Eibach Pro-Kit, Pypes Violators, and then a Pypes off-road x-pipe. Off course, not having a tuner, the last mod turned on my check engine light. I had innocent enough intentions of purchasing an X3 and just getting a tune with the rear O2s deleted. I found a great deal on a used one and ordered up a BBR 91 octane tune. Well, after realizing how easy it was to change tunes, I went a little further and added CMDPs and an updated tune. Now I figured it was a good time to throw the car on the dyno and see where I was at. I was quite pleased with my results. 294hp and 310ft/lbs (SAE). I figured I was right on par and was happy as I could be. I came across a good deal on a JLT and figured it was worth while to throw it on. I figured the BBK, with it's stock size MAF housing, wasn't giving me my full potential. Installed the JLT and another updated tune and the butt dyno was VERY happy. I was surprised at the difference. The car felt better through out the entire rev range. Today I took it back to the dyno to see how calibrated my butt dyno really was. Results were quite surprising and very exciting. Final numbers were 303hp and 319ft/lbs (SAE). That's a gain of 9hp and 9ft/lbs. Not too shabby.
I have three more items that I've ordered that I will be dyno testing. First will be the Comp 127020 Mutha Thumpr cams. Second will be a set of Steeda under drive pullies. And lastly will be a set of Pypes long tube with off-road x-pipe. I will install each separately and take it back to the dyno for real world results. Gain or lose, the results will be posted up for all to see.
Here's my dyno graph from today. What do you guys and girls think?
