have a newer optima red top and my car cannot sit for more than two/three days without needing recharged! Any idea of where to start to find out what is draining this damn thing?! Normally I am out of town and just unhook the battery until I get back home but recently I have been home more and leaving it hooked up and coming out to a dead or almost dead battery. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Get an ammeter, disconnect the battery, start pulling fuses.

I had a similar problem but i have a lightweight battery and it would not start if i left the car sitting for two days. I then started having issues with my shaker 1000 head unit with cd's getting stuck so i pulled fuse 56 in the engine bay till i got that fixed and now it could atleast go 4 days and it will start. Im pretty sure it could sit for longer but i try to start it often so i know my problem is the radio but now i dont know how to fix it either wire it different or something. And i have tried turning the radio off before i turn the car off but that dosent work. Maybe you have the same problem i dont know

Make sure the radio is turned OFF when you turn off the ignition, if using the Shaker sound system. It'll suck a battery dry within a few days or a week if you leave it on and just turn the key off.

check your SJB, they are notorious for draining your electrical system.

If you haven't found the problem yet and you can't let your car set more than a few days without it draining the battery I would recommend a battery tender, I keep one on my riding lawnmower and it cranks every time.
