It is designed to work with the stock flywheel. I am currently running a fidanza alum flywheel with it now.

Me too. No issues. I can't rave about this clutch enough.

I take the o issues part back. My TOB is making strange noises. Probably the driver's fault from racing.

Best clutch on he market hands down. lighter than stock engagement and it grabs like no other. I was running mine with a stock flywheel for a while with no problems. Now upgraded to an 8 bolt flywheel for the built motor and still have had no issues. Love it.

Check Hurricane for a Mcleod. I think he had/has a group buy going for them. IIRC they were like $620.

I was told to run and 04 flywheel with the RST. It has a different amount and placement of surface area. If you use the 05-09 flywheel the clutch surface will over hang by about 5/8" on the inner part of the flywheel. I have seen it first hand.

I got mine through Lethal Performance, they are always very helpful with all of my needs.
I believe the clutch costs somewhere around 699.00

I ordered mine their Horsepower solutions, they installed it as well. I went with the McLeod steel flywheel because like said earlier the surface area on the clutch is larger than the stock flywheel. So I just the McLeod fw to utilize that extra surface area.

Simon Mcloed makes a TOB just for the S197 that will/should fix this issue.

And they typically leak.

I will replace with OEM when needed.

The issue arrose from another high pressure single disc I had.

Yes you can use the stock flywheel. It says right on mcleod site it is for use with the stock flywheel. I ran it with no problems. I got a great deal on a fidanza alum flywheel and thats the only reason i changed it out.

So with the clutch having a 5/8 overhang meaning the flywheel is not covering all the clutch surface, couldn't this cause a problem of some sort?
Hate to sound like a newb but as you can see I am an auto converting to a manual so this clutch/flywheel stuff is all new to me.

I think you will be fine with a stock flywheel. I just wanted to use all of the clutch, since they cost so much lol.
