Relocation Brackets, bolt, weld, or sell?

I just got some drag radials to go with my J&M nonadjustable LCA's, and relocation brackets, with adjustable UCA's to come later. The car's not lowered and I don't plan to. I'm in lower of the 2 holes now. They're bolted in. Should I have them welded in for drag racing purposes? Has anyone on here had any problems with bolted on brackets?

Without a doubt. Especially if you are, or are planning on running some serious power/taking the car to the track a fair bit. I have heard of guys having the bolts snap so why take a chance?

I will be installing a set this week myself, I am bolting them in and if I am happy with them I will weld them in addition to the bolts.

Weld them in after all is square.Measure your centre of rear axle to centre of front hub,on each side.Then install your LCARB & re measure,you may find you will need ALCA to square the rearend,trust me,i learned the hard way on this one.If the rearend is not square perfectly don't weld them yet!

No,the 9".It does not matter,measure twice weld once!I cut it twice & it was still to short!!!

I had mine bolted for a while and no problems but I had my friend bring his welder and weld them up for security purposes at the track

Had mine first ones bolted in until I hooked real good and bent them. If you are going to do it might as well do it right the first time.

I just put UPR relocation brackets on my car yesterday afternoon. No measuring needed on my car. There were two existing holes that had to be enlarged to 1/2" but that is a no brainer. I have them bolted now and if I am satisfied after I try them at the track I i'll weld em up. All my other suspension stuff is BMR.

I suggest you take some basic measurements,it takes 1 min per side to check & see if your diff is square to the front end,if it is not get some adjustible lower control arms,that is how you adjust it to make it square.These measurements are grade 3 basic ruler stuff,don't be lazy.You don't have to measure anything if you don't want to learn,bolt them up,weld them & go if you think your rearend is square to the front,but not many are,& when you install the relocation brackets,odds are it will throw it out further,hence the adjustible lower control arms,why do you think they make them?

I agree to a degree but I've never seen a car that was off. I measure from center of each wheel. I don't think adding adj. LCAs is the right thing to do if it's off though. If they are off that much than more than likely something is damaged and it's just a band-aid fix. That's not really why they make adj. LCAs either.

Ok,how do you correct it without ALCA?? What were they made for,other than adjusting something??I have had my car since new,never in accident,never winter driven,only has 485 RWHP, with 37,000 miles,has welded torque box brace,frame is not bent.Front suspension is all stock.I measured my LCA's they are the same.Any info welcomed,what to look for etc.
