I run the BMR Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets, w/Steeda UltraLite Springs, and recently bought the BMR Sway Bar Relocation Bracket so that I can install my 15x10 Race Star wheels. Here is the problem, I can't use the sway bar kit with the relocation assembly, so what are my options ? I temporarily removed the sway bar. I have not received the wheels yet and don't know if they will clear the sway bar by using the lower control arm brackets, anyone run into this ???

I installed the BMR LCA brackets with the sway bar relocation kit from BBR on my car with no problems. I have the 15x10 racestars as well and they fit just fine. The sway bar is mounted just under the rear shock so the LCA bracket won't interfere with the install.

The thing prohibiting someone from putting on 15x10s is the sway bar mounting location on the chassis. The mounting point sticks out about 1-2 inches too far and needs to be cut off, thats why the sway bar needs to be relocated higher up. So even with the sway bar off the rim wouldn't fit correctly.

I have BMR LCA relocation brackets, and the BMR SB relocation bracket but the latter is not yet installed. It would suck if the SB will not work since I have Racestars on the way and MT ET Street in the garage. Did you actually try the SB relocation brackets? I pulled the wheels yesterday to take a look and unless I'm picturing it incorrectly, it appears there is plenty of clearance on drivers side, but it would be close on the passenger side. I'd give BMR a call.

Bad281, can you post a pic of the clearance?

Im interested to soo the out come. I know the Steeda SB is thicker but I wouldnt see it creating an issue. Honestly I wouldnt run an upgraded sway bar in the rear for the track. There is nothing at all wrong with it, its just me!

Let me know if you have any issues O.P

thanks

The control arm relocation brackets and the sway bar relocation brackets were all designed to work together. If your sway bar hits your LCA bracket when you add the sway bar relo kit, then your LCA brackets are most likely bent. However, I think you are just not installing the sway bar kit correctly.

I can tell you, when I did mine, the rear was hanging much lower than normal travel limits because the shocks and sway bar were disconnected. The install directions say to support the rear so it loads the suspesion. Once I jacked up the rear by the diff, there was plenty of room for everything.

I ran into the same problem with my CHE LCA relocation brackets & the Steeda sway bar relocation. I tried grinding down the sway bar to get it to fit but after taking off 1/3 of the sway bar & still no luck, I just removed the sway bar. The suspension was loaded & the LCA brackets do not look like they are bent. I haven't driven the car without the sway bar yet but I am hoping it doesn't cause any issues.

hmmm, I wonder what the issue is. Do you think there is a difference on the rear sway bar and/or rear suspension between the 05-06 vs the 07-09? Nah, that can't be it... Peaky85 has an 07.

You will not be able to corner as well, but it is nowhere near as noticeable as when the front is removed.

Bad281, can you post a pic of the clearance?

I took some pics with my cell, so the quality isn't all that great but you can see the clearance.

The 1st Pic shows how everything fits, 2nd shows the area that will interfere with the 15x10s... hence the need to cut it off and relocate the sway bar, 3rd shows the clearance between the stock sway bar and the relocation bracket... it's not much but its enough. Either way I don't see a problem if the sway bar where to touch it if you are just using the car for the dragstrip. Hope this helps.

You can clearly see the LCA relo brackets are notched to accomidate the sway bar.

Did you cut the notch on the relo brackets, or did they come like that? Mine are a couple of years old and were not notched, so I did it myself with a cutoff wheel so I could relocate the sway bar.

I installed mine this afternoon. Stock sway bar, BMR relocation brackets. The relocation rackets have notches. No issues whatsoever when installing the sway bar relocation bracket with the suspension loaded. You do have to reverse the shock mounting bolt due to clearance with the sway bar. It is a fairly close with the stock sway bar (1/4"). I imagine clearance issues that would require further grinding at the notches with an aftermarket unit.

Mine came like that, they are from BMR.

Picking up an old thread, is it OK if the rear sway bar is rubbing the LCA relocation bracket? CHE relo, BMR sway bar.
