The new 6 speed is actually shorter, but I haven't measured it to confirm that, but just eying it looks to be about 9" or so shorter. Here is a picture for reference, the McLeod box is 16" long, so I don't think a 05-2010 D/S will work, but we are going to try to test fit one to confirm also...

i don't know if anybody has asked this question before but for the looks do you think the transmision could handle a lot of HP and torque?

Right, rated for 375 lb/ft and the motor makes 390 lb/ft....I find that quite curious (that the trans has a lower torque rating than the motor actually makes).
Kind of like the camaro, trans rated at 430ft-lbs per GM documentation...
right on the edge of it's torque rating. weird.
