I wonder how this will do with nitrous. How would it handle a nitrous backfire compared to a stock intake when it flexes this much compared to the stocker? I manhandled one down at the shop the other day, and it looked like the flow would be anything but even with the first port right there front and center.

14lbs with a Rotrex?
A nitrous backfire has the potential to destroy any intake whether it's aluminum, composite, or stock. Even if one held up over the other, I personally wouldn't trust any intake after a nitrous backfire anyway.

And yes, this will be on my Rotrex.

LOL, you don't even know what your own manifold is doing...Why don't you go back and watch your own video again...
LOL you dont even know what posting about...I never posted the vid on this, I merely have the same thing happening on not as severe...do me a huge favor, put yours on and drive it a while and see how yours DOES and then come back and post your opinion, becasue at this point the only thing your are doing is speculating. Also I have noticed that several have dyno'd this intake and the only real gains over deletes is on a boosted car unlike the claims it would gain on N/A because really...how many S197 guys on here have boosted cars?...its prolly 10-3 N/A over the whole board being 10 N/A's to 3 F/I'd cars. There is a lot more being talked about then just the flexing of this intake.....whatever you may say...IT SHOULD NEVER, EVER, MOVE....

When I install it on my own car, I expect it to do the same thing. As far as speculation, I've only been pointing out the facts. And while we're talking about speculation, unless you engineered this intake, you really shouldn't comment on what it should, or shouldn't do. Because the guys who did engineer it, says it's okay.

I'm seeing 335 boosted cars compared with 254 n/a cars. Once again, someones theory doesn't hold water.

I for sure am going to hold out on picking this up. I love the aesthetics of this over the C&L, but can't find it worthwhile to throw on an intake that's seemingly weakening itself with every blip of the throttle.

19COBRA93, I really hope your works out for you. If not, your going to be eating a lot of crow. With the intensity you have for supporting this damn manifold, you'd think it was your creation.

Beers all around if I'm wrong lol.

I just don't like seeing something being dragged through the mud over no damn reason. It could have been anything of any brand, I'll defend it if it deserves.

We'll have to agree to disagree on what is classified as a good damn reason!

I still believe the best intake manifold has a KB, Whipple, or Saleen attached to it!

I'm no engineer but, the "FRPP REP's" say its ok, I havnt talked to any engineer....
but...why didnt they know already it would flex? Would have been a simple we know it does this dont worry, instead I was told really?!?! It flexes?!?!? Hold on let me get back to you...The pics I seen of the intake on test cars look nothing like the final peice on my car...check it out yourself....

The initial call to FRPP got a tech guy who didn't know the "engineering" aspect, so he had to get with the engineers to find out more about it, which led to the later reply from FRPP which talks about the 1mm injector boss movement.

Regardless if this flexing is going to cause an issue or not, this thing doing that just shows how cheap it really is. Poorly made plastic junk, which is unfortunately all too common these days. Something like this should not be acting like an accordion, period. I don't care if it's a problem or not. It just should not do it.

I'll take metal. I hate plastic anything.

I remember seeing the final version of this intake and commenting how it looks cheap. Well, looks like it really is! The prototype had a much higher quality look. I don't know if the materials were different or not but they did look like it anyway.

I honestly expected much more from Ford Racing. They've done a lot of really great stuff over the years. But, everyone has hits and misses. And IMO, this intake is a miss.

Welp mine is doing the shit too. I hope FRPP knows what the hell they are saying.

BTW no chance on FRPP strut tower brace clearing. It needs a good inch drop.
