Just wondering if y'all with the Brembos on your 5.0 get the squeaking sound at low speeds when you brake. It's so damn irritating and I 99% of the camaros have it, just wondering if you guys with the 5.0 get it too. Not sure if the sizes on the 5.0 are the same as the SS.

The brake pads on the '11 5.0's are exactly the same as all the '07-'11 GT500's and I've not heard one of those make a sound. I have the same brakes on my '05 and they don't make a sound either. GM must use a different compound.

I was explained that the size and the ceramic are what make it squeel at low speeds. It only happens when I brake at around 5mph or less.

There are things you can try. There is a paste you put on the back of the pads. There are thin brass shims that you put between the pads and the pistons.

Ive got the Saleen branded Stop Tech 14" 4 piston and they squeel like a Mutha at low speed! I had the Brembos on my 07 GT and they were dead quiet.

Mine do squeak a little, sometimes. No big deal. Barely notice it.

I'd recommend both of these, that's easy work.

I'm guessing the sound he's describing is the reason that GM was affixing tape-on wheel weights to the calipers, to change the resonant frequency.

Another easy thing to try is to go bed in the pads again...8-10 "stops" at medium pedal from 40 to 5mph, then park the car in gear (don't use the parking brake) and let it sit for 20-30 mins.

Yes mine do this at low speeds, pretty annoying that the brake upgrade comes with this type of annoyance.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. It does it on and off. One day it'll squeal like a bitch, the next day it's as quiet as a silent night. Going to try to clean the fuck out of them today, get a brush back there, might just be brake dust.

Did GM not put the wheel weights on your calipers?
