I have the fuel pump hesitation problem that seems to be common on the 05, 06 GT. I looked up the replacement pump from ford and yowza...kinda pricey.

I have been reading about the GT supercar pumps, looks to be a bit less expensive and even though I have searched, I haven't found much help on how to install it. I think its a direct bolt in, and this one says installs in less than 2 hours with basic hand tools. Looks like you can get a single or a double pump kit. I think a single would suffice for my application...

Anyone have any experience with this pump upgrade?

Here is the link to what I am looking at...(Its down in the middle of the page)

Why upgrade the pump? Just buy someone's stock take off from an 07 or newer. You can get those super cheap. That is what I did and it fixed my 06 pump issue. I bet there are a couple for sale on this board. New take off may have some too.

Here is a link to a '10 pump. I would think it would be the same. Just verify with Ford. I paid $60 shipped for mine (from an 09GT).

Unless you plan on some type of FI in the future I'd try and find a stock one that someone is selling...if going FI then you might look at the GT one...

That is my thought exactly... I actually put a WTB thread up a little while ago and I have a few options already. Do you think a '10 assembly is the same? I thought the sending unit for the fuel gauge was different? Not sure where I read that but it seems like I got that from somewhere...

Whether you get one or not, make sure you find it somewhere else than RPMOutlet. Do a little bit of research on the company. Search for their name here on the forums. Also look at the BBB website. I'd be willing to bet there are a bunch of complaints.

The sending unit is different on the '10 models. I took out my stock pump from my '10 and installed dual GT supercar pumps in the stock hat. I can sell you my stock pump if you want, but it is only the pump. You would just need to remove the hose clamp from your stock pump and slide the pump out and then reinstall the new pump with a hose clamp. You can get the fuel injection (t-bolt type) hose clamps from any auto parts store to use when reinstalling the pump.

I'll sell the pump for $40 shipped if you are in the lower 48 states. Btw, the stock pump only has 2100 miles on it.

I read that the supercar pump w/ BAP puts out more than the GT 500 pumps. is this true?
