has this ever been done? is it even an option? how would we go about getting a track day at limerock or something along those lines? do we have to have a sanctioned club or something? i have been looking at some info, but am not really understanding how we could have our own S197 day kinda deal going on

There was an article in motortrend with the best road courses in america. Some of the big ones cost over $10,000 a day to rent plus you would need $1 M in insurance before they will rent to you.

Thats why most sanctioned bodies do this only, or if your a very big race team.

Virtually every track is willing to rent the premises, but as noted, it can be pricey. I got pricing for a local "club" level track, and here's how it breaks down:

$5000 per day to rent the facility
$500 for the ambulance
$400 for the fire/rescue truck
$200 for the tow truck
$100 for the grid marshall
$75 each for the corner workers
$10/hr for the gate security worker
$100 for the "vendor" (gift shop, also runs the fuel pumps)

That's $6800, plus whatever insurance you need to have as the event organizer. Break even points (rounded):

20: $340 per head
30: $227 per head
40: $170 per head

That's per day, so you'd need to double that for the weekend...

That
