Tested our car yesterday at MIR and ran a couple of times mostly to get some seat time for myself. Car ran great and while I cant share the ET's and MPH just yet due to an upcoming event I will share with you one bit of information.

WMS Custom tune with the JLT CAI went .2 quicker and almost 2mph faster in the 1/4 mile with the exact same 60ft. 1.662 and 1.663. The stock airbox tune was the same as the JLT tune in every aspect other then being setup for a stock CAI. The results were also in the incrementals as well, not just at the stripe.

Now I know being a stick car that the driving has alot to do with the results and I would have to honestly say that the JLT would most likely give you 1mph and .1 across the board if all things were equal. Its a nice unit and I really like the way it fits and looks. The car got plenty of attention yesterday at the track and the CAI was a main point of focus for most.

Thanks to JLT for allowing us to test this unit and I look forward to more great results. :beerchug2:

.1-.2 tenths is almost negligable. Not knocking the intake by any means. It looks like a nice piece. I would like to see this compared against a K&N drop-in to understand the differences.

It's more the mph increase that indicates a power increase than a ET increase.

These are not conclusive results at all guys. Just initial impressions and results. Once I get more seat time and tuning time this unit will most likely wind up head and shoulders above most others out there. Its already 100% better then the MMR that I originally tested a few months ago.

More testing coming for sure.

Right but ET wins races.

In this testing it was good for just under 2MPH increase.

If you want to split hairs then, reaction time wins races. Typically 1 mph is about 10 hp. That is a rule of thumb.

How about the butt dyno's results?

Butt dyno and looks alone are worth the price of admission. :beerchug2:

Plus the sound that you get from this unit is incredible.

I will have a vid up today or tomorrow from in the cabin. :beerchug2:

And his ET improved .2 after the install.
With CAI and tunes gaining 22-26 RWHP on average it sure sounds like this proves the CAI is worth at least half the gain.

IMO, dyno testing proves the power is there and track testing has too many variables like tire spin, heat, coolant temps, launch RPM and so on, that's why I don't like track testing, but some do.

Here JJ had the same 60' and the only change being the JLT CAI with MAF transfer change for JLT CAI he gained .2 and almost 2 MPH.:wow: That's about 20 RWHP per the 10HP per .1 second

Now I know anyone testing a product at the track and made any gain after a part install would give 100% of that gain to the part installed. Giving the benifit of the doubt that JJ's driving improved after the first 60' and he is only giving half to the part.

Even so, we are still right inline with a 10-13 RWHP gain for over .1 and over 1 mph.
Remember, it all adds up in the end.:hi:
CAI's are one of the first purchases for any Mustang owner, it might as well look this good, right ?
:beerdrink:
Thanks

I don't agree with the .1 to .2 being negligable...gaining that much with just a CAI is very impressive.

You guys are not getting that this car did it with the same 60 foot times, I am curious how close the other splits like the 330' and 1/8th mile ET and trap were. 2 mph and 2 tenths is a big difference for just a CAI. The car is obviously making more power.

I guess I am underwhelemed. I would personally invest that money into suspension, O/R x-pipe, etc. before a CAI on this car. You will have more gains there. The stock intake on this car is very good.

Don't get me wrong...I like the intake and may move in that direction down the road. It just isn't one of the top 5 things I would initially go after.

.2 tenths in the 1/8th and almost 2mph in the 1/8th as well. 330ft was .1 tenth as well better with the CAI.

Keep in mind that the more power the engine makes the better this CAI will perform. More testing coming soon. :beerchug2:

Cool deal. I was noticing that the new CAI's for the 2011+ had the "excitement" tube integrated. I didnt know if it increased cabin noise, or what.
