There are probably 100 threads on every forum I have been to about this. I would suggest searching this forum and a few others. There are lots of opinions and lots of experience. They don't always line up so you need to decide how you drive and what risk level you want to live with.

The blocks can withstand well over 1000hp. The newer motors from '08 on, have forged internals (Cobra Crank, Manley Rods, Forged Pistons). That's the reason you see so many cars with Blowers, Turbos, and Nitrous, cause these cars can take it.

The Automatic 5R55 Transmissions are very strong and can back up whatever you throw at it due to it's larger than normal and hardened 300M input shaft. The only reason people switch to the 4R70W Trannys is because they have a Transbrake. Other than that, they're equal in comparison.

The 5 speed Manual 3650 Transmissions are the equivelant to the TKO500's and can really take a beating. A lot of racers in "Real Street" Class use the 3650's due to ease of shifting because they come straight from Ford with Face Plated Gears which make "Power Shifting" very easy. So hold the gas to the floor and let her rip. The main reason why people switch to the 6060 Transmissions from the GT500's is due to the fact that they can have a 6th gear for highway cruising. Other than that, the 6060 is....okay.

The Rear ends of these cars are almost as strong as a Ford 9''. Most of the guys that switch to a 9'' do so only for braggin rights to say "Hey, I have a Ford 9'' in my car". They're good but not necessary.

If you happen to do a search on any of the above mentioned topics, you'll be able to prove/disprove the information I provided you with. I had a little more free time this morning than normal to mess with you.

Huh?? No they do not. All the 3v 4.6's are the same from 05-10. Same shitty rotating assembly. Only cars that have those guts are 03/04 Cobra's. And no, the GT500 does not have that stuff either.

OP, you really should do a search on here for this info. My bottom end is still stock, but only God knows how long it's going to last.

HAHA, nice! I can see it now, everyone is going to go trade their 05-07 for an 08 and up. Then throw a blower with 20 psi on it. Should be entertaining.

I believe the generally accepted consensus is that even with a safe tune, pushing over 450 rwhp and/or 15 psi is pushing the limits of the stock drivetrain.

Here is what others seem to think about the 4.6L 3V engine...

45.3 % of people on other forums believe if you run more than 450rwhp your engine will blow up... So that means as long as you don't run 451RWHP you're engine will last for ever...

45.3 % of people on other forums believe that if you run more than 10PSI regardless of the horsepower number your engine will blow up... So that means as long as you don't run 11 PSI your engine will last for ever...

9.3 % of people on other forums believe the above two groups of people are full of shit because there motor threw a rod at 10 PSI or below and 449RWHP or below.

That only adds up to 99.9 % bro... :boobies:
0.09 % of people use NOS and get the AIDS.
