has anyone had a scienic roof installed?

who did it? and how much did it cost for labor? did it turn out good? did you have your headliner modified or buy a ford head liner?

i've actually thought about this myself.. looked up the parts on microcat and changed my mind :S

here's the full list of related parts, part numbers, part MSRP and diagram.. you maybe able to do without the "BOW - ROOF" and "PANEL - TRIM" if you do something custom..
and you might be able to get a 20-30% discount on parts, but you're still looking at over $2k USD in parts alone..

there are always options like the Saleen scenic roof (Saleen P/N 06-1201C14286A Glass, 06-1201C16929A Side Seals)
and whatever happened to the CDC Glassback roof?

Yes but its sooo worth it!

PM Irishpower he was looking at getting it done but the nearest authrorized CDC facility was double digit hours away and i think the job was over $3k. Its very unique and you do get that Vert feel without all the windnoise and debris bieng crammed up your nose...

ya the glass its self can be had for 400-650. Just wonder about the install and i think i would have my headliner modified and maybe done in suede or something like that.

i still really wanna do it. but like moses said, the nearest installer to ny is eight hours away and the cost is 3k. and on top of that, they need the car at least 24 hours. im still considering it though. especially now that i see that one on ebay. anyone knwo what else is required for the install? and OP, i think CDC is pretty close to you actually. i think the may have said detroit when i talked to them

I question structure and rigidity. Plus, how much does that glass weigh? Knock yourself out but its a needless expense from my view.

it only replaces the sheet metal portion of the roof.. the structural integrity of the roof wont be compromised.
as for the rigidity.. i think it's as strong if not stronger than the windsheild, given the full UV protection laminate

its actually proven to be more structurally sound than the roof it replaces
