Roush charger in a auto?

For 281 cu in, a roots type is better IMHO.

Why/how is it better? Better for what intended use or situation(s). There's nothing bad about your opinion - I'm just trying to understand when a roots would be better.

I called roush and they suggested I talk to jdm or bbr about tuning for my longtubes and d rockers. Talked to jim jr @ jdm and now I am fucked....The dark side is pulling me over! Lol. He gave me some great info and said they can email me a tune for my mods. Damn......now I have no excuses. Gotta decide if I want a low 12 second car! Lol.

Yup that's what he said too. Another $300, but am not gonna do the pulley as he said with my LTs and cams I would be close to the edge of needing to upgrade to the gt500 fuel pump etc... My goal is to obviously add some power but keep engine and trans in the "safe" zone.

So what gauges are a must when going FI? Boost, a/f? Anything else I should change /upgrade? I guess my Cermamic hf cats gotta be gutted or removed. I was told when I bought them they would melt with FI.

Agree'd. I also like you to further clarify your statement. Just saying it's better is a pretty broad comment.

I was almost pissed at myself for choosing centri after everyone touted TS. After getting it setup and everything tuned right, I'm extremely happy with my decision. The car drives like stock until you put your foot in it. It's also easier to manage on the street where it's tough to get higher hp cars to hook.

that's why they're on sale all over. But dollar for dollar, for a street car, for most people it's a helluva unit. Comes with everything needed and makes decent power. Hell 10 years ago 300 hp was the king. Now if a performance car doesn't have 400 it's weak shit, haha. But this is a great time to be a car guy. The choices are incredible and it's pretty easy to make 400 hp if you don't want to buy new.

with 4.6 liters, 281 cubic inches these motors are a bit smaller than the 5.7 Chrysler and the 6.2 chebbie and make less torque. Torque moves weight. Typically a roots type blower makes more torque lower in the rpm range where the butt dyno can feel it.

is it better ? For the broadest spectrum of drivers probably. Everybody talks about horsepower but really it's the torque you feel when accelerating from low rpms. But as this is a forum where most owners have specific goals in mind ie; drag racing, street racing, autocross or road racing 'better' is too broad a term. I used better for the general population I guess since most people who drive their cars day to day and do not race will benefit from more power down low.

meh if i had 3500 i'd rather get a single turbo set up. the roush m90 is a pretty weak blower meant for v6's. but if you're looking for a little more power for a cheapish price and dont plan on ever really making anything more then it's not a bad deal.

Yeah it is not the most powerful blower hell we all know that!! But at $3500 for people do not want to get into the range were the internals and fuel system may be at jeopardy, this is a hell of a deal!! People that are tracking yeah not a good choice, but for people who want more SAFE performance out of their stock block at that cost, for me anyways, kind of a no brainer!!! Some people may not agree, but my is in and my blower is on the way!!

the Eaton M90 is for engines 3.0-5.0 displacement regardless of cylinder count. It's been on alot of cars over the years, V6's too. The actual air pump is not specific to any one engine. Bolt it to an engine specific manifold, slap on an appropriate sized pulley for the application and it's good to go. It's obviously proved it's mettle over the years. You'll be happy with it.

I Agree the M90 is great for the average s197 drive that has no intention of building up the block. You can pay 6k for a Twinscrew, but if you’re not going to build the block that extra 2.5K could of been spent on long tube headers, traction, and new 1pc driveshaft; to make it faster then a stock s197 + a 6k blower.

The roush & the Magnacharger are both great buys for those who again have zero intention of building up the block.

oh yeah, Thunderbird SC V6, Buick, Pontiac 3800 V6, others. It's just a pump, it has no specific usage other than pumping air. Mounted to a manifold it can go on anything 3.0 to 5.0 in displacement. Number of cylinders has nothing to do with the pump. Hell you could put it on a 4.0 liter single cylinder.

I think you'll be happier than a pig in shit when you bolt that on your car, and at $3500 it is a great buy.
