I took mine to a local powder coater and he just charges $50.00 a set, airbrushing was extra from another friend of mine:thumb2:
How well have they held up on the car? I have a friend that can prep and powder coat mine for free, plus I airbrush some. I am just worried about how the automotive clear will hold up to the heat.

do you know what brand of clear coat what used on them by chance?

I'd say a good auto motive grade of urethane enamel paint and hardner, not your spray can enamel ,but urethane you would use through a spray gun.

Yep, I'm polishing my valve covers as we speak, but I really haven't made up my mind weather I'm going to polish the whole valve cover or just the top part and paint the rest. I've already striped the valve covers and started the polishing process.

I should post the chrome valve covers I have for sale....

We did the polish thing on the stock valve covers. They looked good, but they were a pain to keep up. I think after a month I ordered the chrome set.

I polished my stock ones many moons ago, and was not able to keep up with them...this I ordered chrome and never looked back.
