I've got a tune question. I bought a used Diablo Predator for an 05-06 GT. I put it in my GF's 06 automatic car last night. The tune options were C&L Street, C&L Racer, C&L Street Firm Shift, C&L Racer Firm Shift.

Now I have a K&N CAI intake on it. I put it on C&L Street Firm Shift. Car runs better especially from a 40-50 pull, hits the gears nice and firm. Seemed to idle the car down a little too low and it seems to have made the throttle less responsive from a stop. By that I mean you know how quirky the throttle is in an automatic? It made it worse. Plus the check engine light is on didn't pull a code yet. Which tune should I be running? Will any of them even work or should I just get a custom tune?

I figured the box tune would be close?

If I’m reading your OP correctly you bought a used tuner from someone who already had tunes on it written for His / her car... which had a C&L CAI on it I’m guessing from the names of the tunes... With your girlfriend only having a K&N Filter I highly doubt its flowing as well or as efficient as a C&L Intake and could be causing the CEL.

Box tune would be just fine... If it was written with your computers code and for the modifications YOU have... Spend 50$ and get another tune.

It was a used tune. But I just assumed that is what it came with from Diablo. So it has a custom tune in it already? I see....

U need a tune. If it says c&l it probally had a c&l but it could have had more for instance cmpd no cats different exhaust etc etc. $50 and u should be good to go. Many supporting vendors will help ya here in the vendor section.

Or you could dump that POS k&n intake and buy a c&l intake. It made a noticable difference on my car even with a tune

The Diablo comes from them with those tunes. The C&L Street will be the closest to what you need but not quite. That tune works pretty good for the BBK but a little rich. You'll need a DB9 port on your computer to use a RS232 cable or there are USB-DB9 adapters you can buy. Another route would be to get a C&L and sell the K&N, then the tune would be correct for your car. It'll really depend on what else you plan to do and how much you want to spend. Don't use the stock air box tune as it will lean the fuel mix at WOT.

I think Diablo has all the base tunes on their website. IF you are not running o/r then you can download the tunes you need I believe. I haven't looked on that sight in years. You will need a serial null modem cable if I remember correctly.
