You could remove the power window mechanism on the passenger side.

Look to things you could miniaturize or remove to make race weight and put back after.

Doesn't real street require full exhaust?

Whats behind the bumper covers on these cars? That's one place you can shed some weight on Fox body cars. Maybe you could save some weight in the bumper supports.

Or I rock the ipod with head phones xD super light weight lol

Thats what I do!

:roflmao:

Oh and I might run dumps with round mufflers and save some weight from the full exhaust porbably 30 lbs there aswell

Yeah getting rid of the over the axle exhaust was a lot of weight. I would say 30lbs is reasonable as the 2.5 inch tubing was pretty heavy. I replaced it all with some Pypes M-80 mufflers. I am going with a race single chamber muffler now.

If he goes with a fuel cell, he's going to need to make the rear seat back area and parcel shelf into a firewall.

Just about every drag racing organization will require that.

S&W race cars makes it ready to go, I used it in my car.

if i were you, i'd re consider the AL flywheel.

a steel flywheel has much better inertia, thus much better 60's (it'll hit the tires harder) and rpm less drop between shifts (keeping you in the torque band).

Take a saws-all and cut half of the dash off. Hell you only need the drivers side, right????

They are saying 46 lbs minus stock exhaust with stock h-pipe... The cats arn't on the exhaust in that pic that explains alot too, plus I have long tubes.. that system is mediocore at best... The mufflers looks restrictive too

just some ideas may be a little extreme

a thin radiator (you should not need a 4 core or aluminum 2 core witch equals less antifreeze like the stock fox body 5.0s had), cut out the trunk replace with aluminum panel. go crazy with a drill any steel that does need to be there. The rear of the car can be drilled out , just have to space it right. Ford drilled the frames on the early 80's pickups for better gas milage. Why not apply same idea to this? Can you take the strut towers out of the engine bay and make a tube frame with coil overs and go with a fiberglass front end?

make quick disconnects wherever possible, (window motors, speakers, etc...). have it all in the car, but when you get to the track, remove door skin, remover speakers and motors and whatever else, replace skin and go. also, try and cut out any sheet metal bracing you dont need like the webbing under the trunk lid. another, remove the rear quarter windows and replace them with sheeet aluminum. then, trace the entire wiring harness and remove any wires you dont need. a/c wires, fog lights etc...
