TPS Sensor switch?

I tried searching the forum, and I couldn't find an answer, so I hope this hasn't been beaten to death:

I have the stock 16" wheels, and I'm getting some new 20s. Can the TPS sensors in my 16s be switched over to my 20s?

Yes. They should all be the same Ford sensor.

They are in the inside of the rim, but the 10-11 are in the value stem I believe.Had anyone dealt with the new style TPMS?

The new style TPMS sensors are screwed to the bottom of the rubber valve stem with a little torx screw.

You will have to buy 4 new valve stems with the provision for the screw. You can then pop in the new stems and re-attach the sensors.

I guess you could if you were very careful and took the time to get the old ones out. I personally wouldn't hassle with it for $10-20

You have to take the stock sensors out of your wheels and install them in the new wheels. Either that or buy new replacement sensors and install them in the new wheels, and you can "calibrate" the new sensors to the car.

The link I posted was just for valve stems not sensors.

I think I may have misunderstood your question. You cant take sensors say out of an '06 and calibrate them to an '09 or vice versa.

Ill answer a few questions... The New valve sensor system won't work in an 07-09, yes u have to buy new valves if you switch wheels because the old ones break when u take them out, and sensors from a 16" wheel will work in a 20" wheel, but u will need new bands and brackets.
