As everyone has said the M90 is a good deal if you never plan on going with more power. The only thing is if 2 years from now you change your mind and decide you want to step it up some you are screwed. If it were me I would go ahead and spend the extra for a good TS kit, Whipple, KB, whatever, just for the peace of mind that A. I have a better blower than the M90 and B. if I ever want to upgrade in the future I don't have to buy another blower to do it.

How safe is a maxed out M90? What kind of IAT's are you guys seeing either at the tail end of a dyno pull or at the end of the 1/4?

I can believe a M90 with the Roush tune putting out 370rwhp is safe, but how hot does the air coming out of a 90 cubic inch roots blower get when pushed with a small pulley?

Well, I know my KB at 10lbs IAT hit 120 at the end of the 1/4 mile, driving around it stays at 110 but goes to 120 by the end of a 4th gear pull. I dont track my car that much but mine has lived 8 months so far on stock clutch, trans, bottom end at 530rwhp!

Also look at it this way, if you buy the M90 and want to upgrade later, you can always sell the M90 and take a chunk out of the bigger blower, or if you go the Roush TVS route they use the same lower manifold but the upper blower assembly changes I think. I am pretty sure about that.

My Whipple is usually mid 1teens to 120 at the end of the 1/4 BUT I live in the Pacific NW and ambient is usually 70's or less.

I was wondering how hot a M90 gets with an overdrive pulley, custom tune, etc. that it takes to get it past it's 370rwhp stock numbers.

How hot are your iat's at the end of the 1/4 or at the end of a pull? How much timing does it take to get to 430rwhp? What kind a fuel system are you using?

I have not taken it to the track, and I do not know IATs, it must not be an issue as Justin says this is all fully safe, call Justin at VMP Tuning and discuss all of this. I am also running the stock fuel system, it easily handles what I need.

This is just a friendly FYI. My stock fuel pump wouldn't support more than 408rwhp with a 7.5lb pulley before I went intercooled.

At your current level of 430rwhp you are in need of a fuel upgrade. A bap can be added without changing your current tune.

Like I said just a friendly FYI. I'd hate to see you go lean at wot.

I am not lean at WOT anymore, our stock fuel system can and does handle the upgrade of the M90 kit very well, you can ask and discuss this with both JDM and VMP and everyone else that bought the upgrade kit and is running the upgrade kit. With a small change and induction of 4% more fuel at WOT my A/F at WOT went from 12.4 to 11.6 and holding steady, believe me I researched this throughly before I bought everything, yeah a BAP would be easy to add but since I do not track it I am ok. Plus thanks to my mods I drop boost a little and pick up rwhp, the LongTubes and full exhaust making it a little more safe for the fuel system. But thank you for the heads up I am definitely on the edge if I went any higher or any other mods I would have to upgrade the fuel system and still may at a later date.

I talked at length with Jim Jr at JDM about fuel needs with the m90. He told me with their tune for my cams and LTs with the m90 I do NOT need a BAP. He said I could add one if it made me feel better but it is not needed at all.

They are only around 100 bucks used, don't see any harm in adding one and they are pretty cheap. Hardest part is running the wire.

I guess if your only putting down 370-380 you can get by without it. Hmmm, I wouldnt spend the money for a blower if I were going for atleast 430-450. I made 363rwhp N/A before the KB and it felt weak. Couldnt imagine having a blower making that. To each his own though.

OP think about this before you purchase. Do you have any friends or friends at your local track that might let you ride or drive their car first? My point is 400rwhp doesnt really feel that impressive. Bout all V8 cars have that stock now!

You know what you want so do what makes you happy man!

It seems like people are putting down 450 - 480 hp with the m90 on the stock motor with smaller pulley and aftermarket intake tube and maybe a BAP. That's worth 4k in parts to me.

Sadly for me, I don't have the time, money, or all the necessary skills to install forged pistons, rods, new heads, and then the bigger blower.

I'm not going to be drag racing the car every weekend and it has to be streetable. I've driven cobras, lightnings, and various other things. While not my own vehicles I know that my wife who drives this mustang could not handle a 550+ hp car safely. She does not possess the driving skill.

After reading the feedback here I feel comfortable with the m90 kit because it can be safely installed and tuned for our cars. It can provide and extra 100 horsepower for a reasonable price. I really think that's all I'm looking for.

I thought someone in this thread said they wouldnt do that much. Sorry, I retract my previous statement.
