looking good Paul. A bit of a balancing act for the pic!

Is that the stock ABS module I see there?

I guess the fuel lines still need to be plumbed?

Yeah, the ABS / distribution block will be removed when I do th brake system. Right now next on the list is motor / trans mounts and the custom headers. Car is going in this Friday for that.

I am going to see if I can get my license at Irwindale. Will be racing at Fontana (PSCA), Bakersfield, and Vegas.

Guess what came in today..........:

My ATI PowerGlide trans and 9 inch converter. Even with the supercase and SFI bellhousing it weighs 115lbs-- lighter then the 4R70W which weighed 140lbs. Without the SFI supercase and SFI bell, I believe there are powerglides as light as 95lbs, but not sure.

In any case I got the upgraded input shaft, transbrake, SFI bell (which I bought used) and SFI supercase (so I don't need any trans blankets). I bolted up the bell to the trans, and dropped in the converter---that took me about 10 minutes before I got it to drop all the way in. The converter should be a 4500 stall or so with my combo. I have also had the SFI flexplate for a while that is already on the engine.

Based on the dyno numbers I will shift at 7500, and depending on converter slip, I should be at 7300 @ 150mph with a 29 tall tire and 4.10s through the traps. But that is also assuming a car weight of 3450. I am still not sure of the car weight, so there are still alot of unknowns, but that is what I am guessing at this point.

Well the trans is in. The converter sat just about 1/8 inch from the flexplate, and spun freely when everything was bolted up. Everything fit like a glove like it was supposed to!

Thanks man--we will see how bad ass it is once I hit the track. Really hoping for low 9s on motor only and 8.60s with a little juice.

Post #1 updated for cliff notes for people who don't want to read through 40 pages.

Hey Paul when you get some time can you snap some pics of the area around the back tires. I see you have the shock absorbers mounted inbound of the springs. How much room did that give you between the inside of the rear tire and inner fender?

I will post some up next weekend. The main factor is what wheel we are talking about. There is another thread on here where a member fit a 18X11 wheel---as the wheel is large enough in diameter to where the shock and bumper stop purch is not an issue. But for a 15 inch wheel with a slick, definitely an issue.

So if you are looking for ideas on clearance for a 15 inch wheel, I can help.
