I have a 2005 base v6 that is a Cobra clone. GT bumpers, hood scoop, side skirts, dual exhaust, racing stripes, custom grill and Cobra/GT badging. But I still have the original v6 wheels and tires. BF Goodrich Traction T/A, P215/65R16. I'm a rookie at changing wheels. Always just bought tires like original and never upgraded wheels. I first thought I'd be able to find GT or Bullitt wheels in 16 in. and use my tires as they have a lot of tread left. Apparently this isn't possible. 17 in. seems to be the smallest size wheel available. Can someone explain the difference in GT and Bullitt wheels? I'm going to try to find a used set of wheels with decent tires to keep the cost down. I'm an old guy who just loves Mustangs and keep mine mostly in the garage except for taking it to cruise ins and car shows. I think I want the wheels that are silver around the edge and the spokes are a graphite color, but not black. There is a 98 Mustang down the street that has the wheels I want. Am I limited to 05+ wheels or will some of the older models fit? Appreciate any help.
Thanks, Mike

If I am understanding this right...You have a gt500 clone? but with GT parts? I'd try to get a set of gt500 wheels and gt500 body parts if you can to complete the look. Older wheels 94+ will fit but the offset is a lot different. The older wheels will stick out in the rear passed the fender and the front wheels will be flush. Keep looking in the for sale section for wheel sets to pop up also...

Do you have any pics of your car to post up? curious to see what it looks like.

Need pix.

2005-2009 GTs only came with 17x8 or 18x8.5 wheels. The 17x8's are like the sn95 bullits, and the 18x8.5s are s197 style bullitts. The difference between the two is that the 18" Bullitt wheels actually came on the S197 Bullitt Mustangs and they have a smoothed lip where as the sn95 wheels have a stepped lip.

Craigslist is your friend you should be able to find used bullitts in good shape for 2-500 dollars or so.

Thanks for all the good info guys. Here are pics of my car right before I bought it. I didn't like the wheels, so the guy I bought it from (ebay) cut the price $1000 and put the V6 originals back on. It is a rebuilt wreck, so when he fixed it he put front and rear GT bumpers and side skirts and even painted the mirrors redfire. Also added hood scoop and gold striping down the middle. I think I will remove the cobras and just put GT on fenders. I also have the GT grill with fogs that I think I'll put on.
Thanks Again, Mike
