Well I just recieved my car from the POS body shop this past Sunday after they had it for 5 months for the second time around (First time 3 months). I even had to pay a lawyer $2000 to threaten them to have it back to me before a certain date or we would take legal action. So who knows when I would of got it back. Its been raining all week so I didnt get to overlook the car until today. I get to the front bumper underneath the passenger headlight the paint is cracking/peeling off WTF!!! The paint job is only a week old and it is cracking off. The size of the peelling off paint is about an inch long and half inch wide. They cracked my tail light and turn signal, chipped my door, scratches in numerous places, a six inch scratch on my left rear rim that has 200 miles on it, and part of my side stripe is missing. I cant sue the body shop without losing money from the lawyor. So today I have been debating trading in my car before problems get worse. I have been looking at the Saleens and Shelby Gt500 for a while now and I cant make a decision on what to do. Either suck it up and fix it again for the third time with a new body shop or trade it in. Dont get me wrong I love my car Im just worried problems might get worse. I dont want to invest more than I have to into this car and I really like the Vista blue, vapor silver, alloy metallic and silver Metallic Saleens. As for the Shelby I like the Alloy Metallic with out stripes. The most I will spend is $48K. If I stick with my car I will eventually build it to approx. 600 rwhp. Any suggestions??????

If I were you and was going to build a high power car, I'd drop the GT and get that first GT500 you linked. There is so much more you can do with that than a GT, super high power wise.

and why did you go back to the same shop a second time???

Wow that sucks. I know what that can feel like. You have such a nice car though. Seems a waste to just get rid of it.

By NC law I have to give him a second chance at his expense. I really like the gt500's in alloy. If I can find one around here for $48K I will get it.

I know I really dont want to get rid of it but I dont want to have $6K invested in a paint job.

The body shop called me back today and he did something I didnt exspect and that is owning up to his mistakes. He agreed to have my car fixed with a local body shop. If the new body shop does a show quality paint job and it lasts I will keep the car. If I still have problems I will pay to have it completely fixed and the car will be for sale. I will not sell it until everything is fixed properly. I dont want to put my problems in someone elses hands.
Thanks

What do you mean, buy a GT500? Your car says GT500 now and has Cobra emblems. Isnt that a GT500 or are you just pretending to be one?

if he doesnt fix it then sue him for your money, the money to fix the car, and lawyer fees.

you would fix it properly (get it the way you want it) and then sell it...what is the deal? I do not understanf your thinking at all here... Are you just sick of the car? why not keep it then? What are you after? It's a sharp car!

Your car is nice and Im sure you have allot of money in it but I found a 06 extreme for almost the same price. Im not saying your car isnt worth it I think a extreme will hold its value longer. It was the same color with 900 miles. Both cars are beautiful I still havent decided on what Im going to do. Im going to get the car fixed before I make a decision.
Im going to pass on both of them for now.

I have talked to a few lawyers and most of them seem money hungry but what else is new. What I mean is if they lose the case they want me to be responsible for the lawyer fees which can be over $10K. Im searching for a Lawyer that I pay only if they win the case and they take the fees out of the money get form the body shop.

You guessed it. Im just about fed up with all the BS that has came with this car and the body kit. Day 2 of owning the car Im driving off base near the beach just after returning from Iraq. I go to shift into 2nd and the whole shifter comes off in my hand. Ford forgot to put the bolts to hold the shift to the tranny. The only thing holding it on was the silicon or sealer. I drove all the way home holding the shifter in place with one hand and I could only shift from 2nd and 4th gear with the other hand and trying to steer with the other hand. When I picked up my car from getting fix the dealership cracked my center console and scratched up e brake handle and center console. After bitching they fixed it. I pick up the car and on the way home the alternator dies with 67 miles on the clock. After sitting on the side of the road for three hours my friend pick me up. So back to the shop it goes. Then fighting the body shop for 8 months. Im just sick of the problems. So If there is anymore problems I will have it fixed and I will get ride of it just to get it out of my face. If I get Saleen or Shelby and something goes wrong with the body or anything else I can use the warranty. Much easier then what I been going through to get it fix.
