ok as of now i have the following setup:
Baer GT plus system w/ 2 piece rotors and PBR calipers
front pads are hawk hp
rears are shelby gt500
ss lines
brake cooling ducts for track days since they rub on full turns
gt500 wheels w/ 275/40R18's
my question is if i went back to oem calipers but installed a set of dba 2 piece rotors and full time brake ducting kit would i see any improvement in weight off each front wheel?
i havent gotten a chance to weigh each caliper/brake rotor but it seems the pbr calipers are quite a bit lighten than oem while the dba rotors i would assume will be quite a bit lighter than the baer 2 piece rotors?
im trying to minimize weight but keep my fade resistance as it is. i have not had a problem running my car 75-80% and not having fade or overtemps of the pads yet. i was thinking i could save a little weight and rotating mass at the wheel end itself by going to the oem caliper and dba rotor setup?
anyone have any information on this or have a better insight and to which direction should i go?
car is primarily used for HPDE sessions and quite a bit of autocross but is not a full time DD, just a once in a while car.
thanks guys!
