I understand everything, if you go to a new tuner, this new tuner has to do you a new file, all his, not use others tune for it.

Lund got what they deserved by having their file tampered with.

No matter how pissed off Lund is/was at the OP, they were paid, in full, to do a job. They ignored the OP. I call bullshit on that.

In my opinion...

Lund STOLE his money.
He STOLE their tune.
Justice served.

Any feedback from the people building your motor on their opinion of the cause of it grenading??? If you trust them to build your engine in a $50k+ car, surely they've shared some insight on the probable cause?!?

Do they feel it was "tune related" from their analysis? Not a jab. I just wanna know what caused your motor to pop in a GT500 at the power you were at. I know anything could happen but wow.

It seems to me that stock GT500 motors usually go around 750rwhp if the rods go. Despite Ford advertising them as forged they are still made from powdered metal and any weak spot will show itself. 750 is alot of power.


725-775 is where I recall many getting windowed, some will live higher, usually with race fuel

I can remember Lethal Performance stock GT500 motors usually going around that power level. The extra length of the rod in a 5.4 makes the rod less stiff, if that's good or bad i don't know.

I think 750 from a stock motor is really incredible to begin with. It's a whole lot of power.

You brought it up not me, but now you will be corrected.

I message AED, and ask if they could help. My back was up against a wall time wise, and I figured it would be a lot easier for them to just clean up the missing spots in the tune and write one for the race gas.

However they opened the original lund racing .cef file, I don't care.

You know I wasn't trying to go down this route, you would have been better off to say less. All I wanted to do was make sure Darren understood this wasn't a good situation for him to be pointing a finger. But now that you've put this here, everyone knows that Shaun decrypts files developed by others. So you've done everyone a service, further exposing him. You'd think that when using other people's calibrations with a track record of cars that run the quick ETs, that he too should have some customers like that. Doesn't seem to be the case though.

I don't recall the LP cars and where they blew up. the added stroke and and bore/stroke ratio make the motor not like high rpm

Don't even think about attacking my professional credentials. Second I've never been to kovals shop. You only know second hand info.

+1000! I rang this bell long ago yet magicly people still flock to him.. out of ALL of the vendors on this site alone, why in hell would ANYONE go to Shaun??

Way back when, I got my tuners permission to open his tune file and have Shaun make adjustments. He didnt do shit.. yet still charged.

Seer your like a brother to me.. a smarter... richer brotha, but giving a tune to someone else without permission is a no no. Yes, it looks and sounds like Lund dropped the ball with you and Darren(trouble maker:asshat:).. You should have make a thread and called them out. or Demanded your money back.

For what it's worth...

The only people to tune my car have been Ken B., Jon and Jon II. That being said, Shaun is a great guy, IMO, and had a huge impact on how impressed I am with my Lund tune. I would not hesitate to send anyone to either tuner.

I agree with Seer 100%. If I were up against the clock and hadn't heard from my tuner, I would do whatever it took to be able to meet my deadline. If there wasn't a schedule to keep I'm sure he would have started from scratch with AED but considering the length of time he hadn't heard from LR, it was pretty obvious he couldn't count on them.

I'm usually the first person to disagree with seer.....I gotta say though I think sometimes a company gets what it deserves. I have been turned off greatly by certain vendors who seem they can't be bothered with cars that aren't going in mags or making 1000hp or have a monster power adder. Lund/ken b are great tuners no doubt but I think customer service is lacking. Going back almost two years I paid for a custom dyno tune by lund which was never right for my measly combination of close to 600whp. I was then sent a tune by them that in Jon's own words was basically fords tune for the 624 whipple kit. So I paided custom dyno tune money for fords standard tune....kind of left a sour taste in my mouth, but I digress. I can see seers point of view n litos/lunds. Now let's see the rebuild.
