Where does the camber end up typically if the mounts are put back in the factory orientation with a 1 to 1.25” drop? Thanks, Ed

    2018 Carlisle Ford Nationals

That's why I'm not likely to head back to this show anytime soon ... it used to be a great all-Ford show with a huge variety of Fords, Mercs, Lincolns and Edsels of all years. When I went 2 years ago after an 8 year absence I couldn't believe how the showfield was filled with mostly S197 and...

I need tires, need some good options

He asked for cheap ... Michelin PSS are not. IMO the best value these days for a decent performance tire is the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500. Built on a Bridgestone carcass, these things have very good grip dry and wet, and awesome pricing...

05 GT Best daily summer driver tire? Midwest weather.

Not on a Mustang, but I have a set of these on my Jag XJR in 245/45R18. Very smooth and quiet ride, great traction in the wet too, I was pleasantly surprised. Pirelli has gotten pretty aggressive with the pricing of their replacement product lines like this one. cheers Ed

    Firestone Firehawk Indy 500

Last summer we put a set of those Firestones in 265/40R19 on 9.5 wheels on a 2017 Ecoboost A6 that I had for a demo. Only had it for about 18,000 km, but I was very impressed with the performance of these tires especially considering the price point. Good traction dry and wet, good ride, only...

    Most comfortable performance tire

Continental Extreme Contact Sport is a close runner-up to the Michelin PSS, and in many sizes is a fair amount less $$. Plus it's available in sizes like 255/45R18 and 285/40R18, which are getting less common in the max performance category. cheers Ed

Anyone know the part # for this Shelby big brake kit

Are they different calipers than stock S197 on the rear? Maybe just relocation brackets and big rotors?

Anyone know the part # for this Shelby big brake kit

Yes, those look like C5 Corvette calipers that have been "Shelbyfied".

Looking for staggered street tires 18" wheels

Michelin does the 245/45 and 275/40, but not the 255/45 and 285/40.

Looking for staggered street tires 18" wheels

You could even go 255/45R18 and 285/40R18 which were the stock sizes on the early GT-500. Less common sizes though, and fewer choices. Not sure what your budget is or what performance level you want, but Continental does offer their excellent Extreme Contact Sport in those sizes.

Looking for staggered street tires 18" wheels

Is the car lowered, or stock ride height? If it's lowered a bit and the fender gap isn't bad, look at 245/45R18 and 275/40R18 which are about 1/4" shorter than the stock size. Very common sizes with many choices, the diameters match front and rear, and they will fit your wheel widths...

    2019 Ranger, 2.3 Ecoboost, 10-spd auto

In other markets the Ranger has available the 3.2 inline 5 diesel that we see a version of in the full-size Transit van in North America. I could see that being offered here since the engineering already exists for it. cheers Ed

    best 18" tire for hpde?

We put a set of those on the 17 Ecoboost fastback that I had for a demo last summer, 265/40R19 on 9.5" square. I was very impressed with the traction dry and wet that they had, only downside was high road noise on older pavement surfaces. Even did a few gentle laps at Mosport, they hung on...

    best 18" tire for hpde?

My friend that owned the 07 in my avatar before me had 555s on the car for awhile. I drove it at one wet & cool track day, they were terrible ... no traction for turn-in or corner exit.

    Staggered or square stance..

That's a generalization ... the calculation for the overall diameter is also affected by the section width. The sidewall height is the section width multiplied by the aspect ratio (profile such as 40 or 45) expressed as a percentage. So 255 X 0.45 works out very close to the same number as 285...

    best 18" tire for hpde?

RE-11 is likely being phased out, it's one of the older ones in that category now. I had a set of 285/35R19 RE-11 on my 07 on 10" wheels, as kcbrown said they are a good compromise between a streetable tire and something that will stand up to track use and offer good grip. I just picked up a...

    best 18" tire for hpde?

Hankook offers the R-S4 in 275/40R18, 285/35R18, and 295/40R18. I have a friend running the 295s on his 16 GT PP on 10" wheels, but I guess that 10.5" or 11" would be better for that tire width. They stand up well to track day usage and have decent grip. Lots of the Chumpcar teams have gone...

    How much is too much?

That for sure, the wheel & tire combo is way too small for track day use as the OP is finding out!

    How much is too much?

If the car has a stock diff (which if it does, is probably worn out), could the rear tires be getting overheated before the fronts because of being spun up on corner exit?

    Directional means directional

Interesting that you would notice that much difference running the tire opposite, in many cases the construction of the carcass is no different it's only the tread pattern for water evacuation. On my old Fox race car I would sometimes run the Bridgestone R-comps in reverse direction on the...

    17s on a 2012 gt?

When they did the Coyote engine in 2011, the base GT brakes became the 13.2", 18" was the smallest wheel on those cars. The V6 PP cars, and all 2013-2014 V6, got the 05-10 GT 12.4" rotors. On the S550, V6 and base Ecoboost have 12.5" brakes that 17" fit over. Ecoboost PP and base GT have...
