Not to hijack the thread but I was hoping a full Bolton cammed 3v would put up a better fight against a stock 5.0. Perhaps your Vert being a few hundred pounds heavier hurt the outcome???
I happen to know that my car with full top end and bolt ons, walked the shit out of a CAI and tune with LT's 5.0....he ran low 12's i had maybe a car an half on him....

You walked a 5.0 with LT's/cai/tune with your all motor 3V? Wow...are you on a stock bottom end?

that doesnt matter much N/A'd.. my compression ratio is stock....
Uh oh...is the flag about to go up the pole? LOL

Fly it, I hate how benchracing and real world racing is so close in this forum, I also beat a GT500, LS3 C-6 M6 Vette, and a 460+rwhp Termi, MattD a member here went pretty dang fast at 11.11+ or - on a bolt on 3V....anyone ever fly the flag on him? I drive good, trap good, and launch usally holeshots the other guy....drag racing is usally won off the line. I see some guys sigs with more HP than I had running slower...driver mods my friend....

Not bashing the M-90 at all in fact I considered it before I ordered the TVS, also looked into nitrous(my wife hated this idea) before I finally went with the SC. I like the idea of running the least amount of boost for the most power and the TVS gives me room to grow later if I choose to. After pricing the nitrous equipment and filling bottle's, then looking at the M-90 and the extra kit I would need to get where I want to be I just think it was more cost effective for me to go with the TVS when all is said and done. I'm still waiting on the SC so as I said before this is all opinion but I did try and research the products and their cost before I made my purchase. Hopefully I made the right choice.

Ok..Matt D has every bolt on in the world and he did a LOT of weight reduction...and he is the exception to the rule.

Let me re-phrase my question; are you still a stock 4.6L bottom end?

Matt's car was sick. And yeah he had a whole lot of weight reduction. And to the OP I know you say know that 450rwhp will be enough but then you will get on it a few times and then you will want more and you won't be able to get any more out of the m90. Get a TVS or Whipple or better yet get a 2.6L or 2.8L Kenne Bell. I already regret not getting a 2.8L Kenne Bell or custom fabbing a 2.9L Whipple and I have only had my 2.3L whipple on my car for a few weeks.

Currently have a stock 05 with an M-90 on the bench just waiting for me to get the time to put it on. Been reading posts that a 3V motor even with an M-90 is not going to pull a stock 5.0. Fine. It is not my intention to start a debate here. I will just for the moment accept that as the truth and get on with my life.

Anyways..considering nitrous in addition to the blower but dont know much about it. Have read the 3v stock motors have a safe threshold of 500 hp before things get "iffy". I have no intention of pulling the motor and putting in a beefier bottom end. Not till it breaks anyways.

Assuming the m-90 is going to bring my rear wheel numbers to around 380 (or not??) how big of a shot of nitrous could I run thru this thing?

And is it relatively safe? I read where some guys run nitrous all the time with no ill effects. Would have to consider plugs as well. The SC requires different plugs and thinking I would have to find a happy medium in there somewhere.

Before I installed the 2.57" blower pulley, I installed a 10% OD crank pulley, a larger MAF housing, a CAI, and a BAP. With a custom dyno tune, the car made just under 440 HP on 91 octane if I remember correctly.

I then installed the smaller blower pulley (which gave me an additional ~1 - 1.5 PSI of boost), a small shot of nitrous, and had Greg at RET tune the car for 100 octane. I made close to 500 RWHP. The blower does tend to make heat with the smaller blower pulley and 10% OD pulley. That's the biggest reason I installed the nitrous. At the track with this set-up, my IAT varies (depending on the day) from 100 - 120 degrees. So it doesn't pull any timing.

I don't run the nitrous or 100 Octane on the street, but I don't race on the street. Whatever power it makes on the street is more than enough for my driving style.

You'd have to ask Greg, but I don't believe the nitrous tuning posed any particular problems for him. I got the AFR pretty close with the jetting before I ever took it to him. It went pretty quickly.

For the doubters:

no greg ... I understand where you are coming from, in that video I was heads/cams/intake/tb/headers (shorty)/ORX/CAI all FRPP except the exhaust stuff was BBK, stock bottom end, that was eighth mile, that was called street race night with no track prep for the first 100', no times and only the pro tree to launch with no staging. I dont know what i ran or what he ran but I know we were with in a few feet at the finish.... but them LS3 vettes are not slow by any means, I was merely showing in comparison with that run that a 3V with boltons N/A'd could run with or even walk a mild 5.0 because i dont have a vid of the 5.0 race i had and the vette there traps the same... 113-115mph 1/4 The guy I raced who claimed LT's and CAI and tune could have been a liar I never seen under his hood, but I know my car ran good on motor...and it walked that one...

My M90 with 2.57 pully and Steeda CAI, and longtubes is making442 rwhp. There are some on fnsweet making 462, but they also have cams and an overdrive pulley.
