Honestly depending on what you're doing you can start with any car and wind up in basically the same place. The new cars are going to be prohibitively expensive. I know a guy who did up a 2009 (?) with the electronically adjustable suspension, a blower upgrade, 1 pc carbon fiber drive shaft, the newest wheels, etc.. looks amazing, probably handles like the new car, etc..

What I'm saying that the average guy doing rolling burnouts on the street and running an off road tune isn't going to notice the iron block (2010, in your case.) Lots of bang for your buck.

Edit: also, why not just throw a TVS on the 2013 GT??

FWIW, the prices for the 13-14 GT500s are still staying well north of $50K, where you can find 11-12 models with low miles for under $40K easily. To me, the price difference alone would put me in a 11-12 model.

This.

It really comes down to how much money you're ok with spending.

Both of these points!

The 5.8L would be incredible, but the 13/14s are still pricey in my opinion. If I were to make the leap now, I'd go 11/12. It's an aluminum block with great stock parts/features and plenty of great potential.

Of course, if you can afford $50K, go for a 13/14!

Just my opinion. Let us know what you do!

:iranmaybe:This is why i bought the 11. Never really heard any one call a Shelby a bad girl. Its a man's car, if it were a girl i would expect it to come with a built in sandwich maker and try to tell me about its day after i get home tired from work.
