So I have pretty bad traction issues with an 800 rwhp car with 4.10 gears. Im running 19x10 Boss 302 wheels with 305 MPSS tires.

Would you guys recommend 15x10 or 17x10 drag wheels for street use? I know the 15x10 requires some modifications, is 17x10 plug n play?

I like the look of the Weld S71 Beadlocks. If I went with the 17’s, for tires I was thinking the MT ET Street R 305/45/17.

have you considered a 19" DR?

MT ET SS - P305/35R19

a more cost effective option since no new wheel is needed.

If not, 15s will give you more sidewall and ultimate traction, 17x10s will a 28" tall tire I'd suspect will work well, no alternations for the sway bar needed

Definitely 15x10. I ran Weld's and loved them.

I would also consider dropping back in gearing. Your car is way over geared with your FI and gearing with the MT82.

I feel like I need more sidewall than a 35?

If I went 15s, what pressure for the street?

I see that MT has the 315/50/17 ET street R’s.

29.5” tire would take a nice chunk of my gearing away which is good.

15’s would be the only way I would go. It will give you the most tire for the most traction.

15x11.5x28

You may need more than 35 aspect ratio. Just a thought on the cost effective side.

Pressure will depend on the tire you chose. I’d suggest starting around 20#

I’m close to pulling the trigger on this:

Weld 18x10 RTS S71 Polished...$1380.88 (2)
Weld 18x7 RTS S71 Polished...$1313.64 (2)
MT ET street R 305/45/18...$689.98 (2)
MT Sportsman front runner 28x6/18...$511.98 (2)

Total: $3897.48

What happened to the 17s/15s?

29" rear tire, that's tall to fit under the car, you may want to check posts by psfracer, I know he fit a 29" tall MT under his race car, just don't recall if he had to modify anything to prevent rubbing.

If it fits, then that's a good set up for the street, as long as it's dry. Alternatively, you could consider a M&H 325/40/18, 28" tall, I have run them for the last 8 years or so on mine.

The only reason I thought of going to the 18x10 was so I could run the 29" tire. That would bring my gearing down to about 3.80. From what I've read, they should fit. Maybe I should do a little more research before pulling the trigger.

Yes they will fit no problem, I've got them on my 2010 Roush on 18x10 Roush wheels.

gotcha - have you thought about just changing your rear gearing?

Yes I have. I don’t think I’d want to drop it that much though. With the 29” drag radials I thought maybe I could kill two birds with one stone.

Yes I’m lowered. BMR springs, I think 1.5” all the way around if I remember right.

Let me ask something. For $3900, how much better are those 18” MT street R’s going to hook compared to if I just threw a pair of 19” MT street SS on the setup I have now? It’s over a $3000 difference.

IMO, the R's will hook way better, there's no question. in addition to the taller tire and the better compound, there's more sidewall, it's not a fair comparison.

the question is what's it worth to you. if it were me, I'd get the SS and see, you can always sell them and change it up.

When I got my Shelby I put a 305/35/18 on mine, they spun at 90+ on the 3-4 shift. I sold them and got the M&Hs

Does M&H have a good 19” DR?

They don't make 19s, just 18s or 20s
