My 2005 mustang gt is running into some issue with what i believe to be the smart junction box. It started with the right rear tail light and front driver headlight acting up and not displaying full brightness and turn signal not working so I attempted to clean it and after that the OBD-2, and gauge cluster stopped working as well. The gauge only displays a dim airbag light at all times no speedometer or rpms or fuel or anything and the OBD doesn't give any reading or signal. I bought a part numbers matching SJB from Ebay and plugged that into the car but experienced the exact same issues/symptoms. I'm thinking the issue lies in the connectors themselves and was curious if anybody experienced this before or knows which connector would control those junctions. I also wasn't sure if a reprogramming would be necessary to even get these functions back if it was the SJB itself. I also checked all the fuses from both fuse boxes and relays and if It were to be the connectors would it be as simple as cutting the harness and splicing a new connector in its place from a parts matching SJB car? Car turns on but I need to retune it and can't without OBD functions. Let me know what you think, thanks.

check your SJB for water ingress as that's a common problem.

Also check the underhood drains for blockage. Once inspected, remove the rubber drain for better drainage.

Does anyone know how to properly disconnect the bottom harness from the C210 connector (grey connector next to the SJB? I can remove the top connector but can't figure out the correct way to release the bottom connector, which is probably a bit corroded inside from water damage. I've attached a photo for reference. It is upside down for the photo and I've already removed the top harness from the connector

That pulls the upper harness from the box. It doesn't seem to do the same for the lower harness. If it should, then it must me mightily stuck in place.

So actually, I can lift the blue pieces (they seem to be position holders and possibly to help keep moisture out), under them I can see male connectors heading the the center "floatin" board. I haven't yet found how to remove them as a unit, rather than individual wires. Still pushing and prodding.

I'm over this particular hurdle. I finally got a good enough look at things to realize that this probably sold as a harness already connected to the C210. Luckily I only have a light white dusting everywhere and will clean that with contact spray. Moving on the SJB itself.
