2010 GT PARKING BRAKE: at limit of adjustment

Hi guys. I recently acquired a 2010 GT 5 speed coupe, and parking brake lever cable is at the limits of adjustment. Adjusting nut is at limits of thread on the cable when accessed thru the console. Already replaced rear cables hoping that’s where most of the cable stretch would occur but it didn’t help. Having a hard time sourcing a replacement lever/cable assembly, as Ford no longer carries it (per local Ford dealer, it’s part number AR3Z-2780-C) (Found plenty of them aftermarket for 2005-2009, but not 2010-2014.)
In the absence of replacing the lever assembly, can I remove the console adjusting nut and put washers or a bushing on the end of the threaded cable, about 1/2” worth of cable length, to effectively shorten the cable? Hoping this will tighten up the overall cable system so I have a functioning parking brake.
Thoughts appreciated!

...Same problem here... 2010 GT.. the problem are your calipers..they are shoot !. The pistons do not work properly. Someone before tried to push the pistons in with force..instead using the proper tool..so the tread is /was damaged, and the pistons can´t move towards the brake pad... At the End your brake cables are not "long enough" to press the brake pad against the brake disk,
Good news.. 70 something bucks ( each ) and you can buy new calipers at RA..from Raybestos.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. The rear rotors are definitely not engaging as much as the fronts, based on some oxidation showing on the rear rotors.

... another idea. You can "shim " the park cable where the cable meets the caliper. on every side, you can add some " body shims " between the bracket and the cable..

FYI, I have EBC pads on all wheels and I have more wear on the rear disk compared to the front (similar with the OEM pads), if you have rust on the disk there is something wrong with the caliper, I guess.

I replaced both rear calipers today.. one was damaged, so the "travel " of the brake pedal was way to long. One piston was freezed up..so the parking brake was also OoO ..
My 2010 had also some rust on the rear discs ..because of the stucking pistons..
