Are you having a problem with yours? That's the kind of thing that would of showed itself by now. BTW the Saleen kits also flip the alternator. The same guy designed both kits.

The 2010 alternator is different than the one Ford used on the 05-09. It's a Denso and has a clutched pulley, so installing it to spin backwards isn't going to work. You need to swap the pulley (if you can find one to fit) or pick up an older style alternator.

The kit should come with a standard pulley and the tool to pull the clutched pulley.

All of the 4.6 3v Mustangs have clutched pulleys. If you swap the alternator you will still have to swap the pulley.

Kit comes with a pulley (7 rib) that goes on the alternator.....My problem is when i flipped it, mounts in backwards, started the car on intial start up my battery light came on and smoked the alt...Mechman alternators told me that the fan inside the alternator is whats wrong getting too hot and frying the voltage regulator....

Ask gmitch, he knows about these alternators. Most aren't aware that Ford used a different alternator the last year or two of the 4.6 3v. My 09 Bullitt had the newer style alternator and when I went to an 8 rib kit the alternator pulley wouldn't fit and the company selling the pulley kits was unaware of the difference.

Bruce,
I know the universe spins in one direction do you think it could've possible just been its time to go? At the time of install? On initial start up?

It happens. I've never been a fan of the backwards alternator kits.

More than 50,000 miles on my E-Force with the backwards alternator with no problems.
The pulley was changed to the one in the Kit, with no clutch. The pulley in the kit was clearanced because of a feature of the front engine cover.

If the pulley in the kit was designed for the 05-09 alternators and it fit, then you don't have the new Denso alternator.

I don't know what manufacturer the alternator is.
It's the one that came on the 2009 Bullitt I have.

Here is the section of the E-Force installation manual:

Yup, that's not the same alternator as what was asked about. The 2010 (and some 2009) is different.
