Finally got to run my friends 03 cobra and let just say it went as i expected. TIE

my car- 2011 GT, factory 373's, muffler and resonator deletes

his- 03 cobra, stock gears, or xpipe, flowmaster muffler, JLT CAI, aftermarket clutch...

We did a second gear 40 mph roll because any lower we both spin to much. He honks and we take off at the exact same time, i jump about half a fender, as i was putting into 3rd he caught up(even), he shifted, i shifted... even the whole way through.. We went up to about 115-120, and neither i was pulling nor him. By the end of the race just in case you are wondering who was in front, The cars are so evenly matched it was surprising but i was maybe a half a fender in front if that. It was very cool to finally run him as we always wanted to see how we would measure since we both bought the cars... He Was very happy with the race as was I. We both thought we were going to Loose :lol1: We didnt feel the need for another run because our shifting and take off was dead on! no excuse on either side and this was the result Enjoy

Chase vid was a exhaust Tune Denali 4door that runs 14 flat at the track:shrug:
FWD to .25 sec

the 5.0 made the terminator obselete.
To a certain point yes. It's still an incredible car capable of great power with simple mods, not to mention arguably the best looking mustang of the last 15 years. Also the fact that there were only a certain number made makes them even more desirable. In 4 years im sure there will be a new mustang that makes the 5.0 obsolete. It's the circle of life haha.

I wouldnt say made it obsolete, at least our two cars, which are the only one we have to compare, Were dead even, Defenately a fun run....

with these runs made, i highly doubt i can keep up so close to him after he pulleys and tunes his, even if i get a cai and tune for mine, im sure once he pulleys his he will just walk away

The 5.0 didn't make the Termi obsolete, a nasty Termi motor will not feel like a nasty 5.0. The 4.6 S/C tuned right hits downright nasty and is snappy as hell where as the 5.0 is more smooth and has a more high rpm power band.

I will agree though that the 5.0 finally brings a way to get N/A performance to the Mustang. Before if you wanted anything approaching 500 rwhp you needed some power adder.

This is where someone will come in a say, "but the termi has OMGZ so much potential". Well, so the does the 5.0....

This illustrates how far Ford has come in 8 years. A blown 4.6 cannot beat a N/A 5.0L, both DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder engines.

The engine is far more than 8 years old, the modular has been available in 4V format for much more than that. The Terminator engine is simply an evolution of the same 4V modular that has been available since 1993.

A blown 4.6 can't beat an N/A 5.0? How do you figure?

The N/A 5.0 has made at most, what 500whp? Blown 4.6s have made far more than that.

Ah then that makes sense my bad. Similar power output but the terminator has a weight disadvantage. I'm sure it would be a close race regardless.

They weigh the same. To this day the 03/04 Cobra still holds a faster stock 1/4 time down to its crappy factory street tires.

Id probably rock the new GT to keep up with the times. The cobra is more of a collector item due to limited production and such.
