It's funny to see this thread just get all mucked up. I don't know Fred and never dealt with him in any way. I've been dealing with Justin for years now and he's been great. Nothing but respect and deals on goods. The JPC crew have treated me very well. This thread was intended to rejoice at the new 5.0 and JPC legitimately hit 10's first, period.

I'm sure Fred is a good guy and I've heard great things about them and the GT500's. As far as I'm concerned EVO is the shop that has dominated the GT500's. Justin has dominated the 3 valve and it's that simple to me.

Now, let's see who's going to dominate the 5.0 market and let's all drink a fucking beer.

Best post of the thread...

http://www.evoperform.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=267_282&products_id=938

thats what im referring to. :2g1c:

I know John Lund has the Ford tools to "crack" the PCM with and make adjustments but it is NOT avail thru SCT so your avg shop cannot make changes yet. I have a unlocked file but the changes we can make are VERY minimal and would never claim we could tune a 2011 as of yet.

hows does that show they are saying there tuning them look at that page its for pre ordering them. i might not be the smartest man but that would mean to me you could buy it before its out and you get one of the first they get.

well how do they know the hp gains? or the fact that the car may hate C16 race gas lol. Its posted as a pic with a SCT handheld which got people excited that they could get their car tune with SCT...which is not possible at this time. I would rather not have 4 or 5 calls a day saying "I read it on evollution performance" that they could tune my 2011. I think it was jumping the gun a little bit, which is all I stated and still stand on. I have talked quite a bit with SCT since we have a 2011 to work with for tuning purposes. I have a hacked version which allows fuel changes and very little else, but has a bunch of CEL codes too...not something that will make a customer happy.

Yeah the track is where it's proven. The street isn't nearly as hard on them as the track is. When/where on the street do you launch at 6k and power shift it through 130 mph all in the same run, and then come around and do it again, and again? See what I'm saying...

I happen to have some recent experience with this... Two weeks ago I installed a smaller pulley on my supercharger on my '05. With a little race fuel mixed in I took it out one night and terrorized the streets. Powered up every on ramp and banged all the gears I could. No problems at all. The next night I took it to the track with no changes. Second pass a rod let go halfway through 2nd gear and put a hole in my block. I'd be surprised it was making over 450rwh. It was fine on the street, but the track really puts the stress on them.

did you have it retuned for the smaller pulley...mixing alittle race gas is nothing like getting it tuned

and saying the 5.0 rod is stronger then the 3v rod right now... it just cant be done...just like the 2v and 3v some may last to higher levels then others... my 2v lasted running low 11s for 2 years and a year in the 10s shifting near 7k.. would I tell someone to try it and its ok... NOPE... yet I have seen 2v blow at 375rwhp.... I have seen a local stock shortblock 3v with 600rwhp and lived for 6 months before the owner pulled the motor before it blew and I have seen n/a 3v motors let go

it happens.... the 5.0 motor is new and no one will really know how these hold up for at least a year or 2

I threw this video together in 30 mins, so it's not one of my better ones, but it's still viewable in 1080P HD!

10.58@128MPH with 1.42 60ft.

125 Shot + Slicks + Front Cobra Imola S Race Seats + The Driver Mod + Dialing In The Suspension = 1.40 60ft's and the bumper almost touching the ground when launching....

After today, I am beyond impressed with this car....

In your opinion, are the stock internals looking like they can take a good amount of punishment before being pushed to the limit? I think if you can get a 5.0 into the 11s with bolt-ons and have a nice daily driver that's reliable would be tits..:boobies:

This is pretty exciting, seeing this car make quicker and quicker passes! Not knowing what will take it even further is the crazy part.

We finally got one in and I can't seem to powershift? The shifter pulls like butter but the clutch stays disengaged until I let off the gas pedal...???

All I'm saying is, the rods are proving to be pretty durable in 3 different cars. 3 completely different cars running 10's, and even 1 going mid 10's so far without failure. Take 3 '09's and try and do the same thing. You'll ventilate atleast two blocks during the process. How many 10 sec stock long block 3V's you know of? Not very many. Now how many guys have tried it? A lot. And those guys were tuned for it. These 5.0's, not exactly tuned for it. They're doing a lot with a little. Try that on a 3V, and it'll break.

I agree on that and disagree built right you can get 3 09-10s to run 10s-9s for a couple passes before the motor lets go maybe even longer

...but lets see how they hold up once they get street miles on them....i mean back in the day a stock 4v (non 03) ran high 8s on stock motor..... you cant just look at 3 cars with a handfull of miles and passes and say they look like they are gonna hold.... like I said it will take time and miles to see how they hold...

I have to give a big thumbs up to both JPC and EVO....
