who cares its a 10 sec stick car with bolt ons

the people that care are the ones debating on buying one and they are wanting et's with it in street form.

personally i don't care i like seeing what they can squeeze out of the new stuff before they pop the motor.

Well I care , but Im not about to trade in my 9 sec STREET CAR full interior with sound system for a 2011.
I do Love that Ford finally stepped up , and Id rather see how fast they can get it without pulling the interior out of it.
I think its just stupid to strip the car just for a number . Id be more impressed to see the car go 11.20s full weight N/A with bolt on's and then spray it with a 150 shot. It will still be close to the 9s if not a 9.90.
Im not bashing any of the tuners for there accomplishments. I just think they should just leave the interior alone and see how fast it will go by tweeking suspension , tune and bolt ons.

I think they just wanted to run a number first so they can say they are the pioneers of the 2011. I'm sure full interior cars are on the way.

common sense has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of complete street trim cars out that run in the 10's and faster.

I agree with everyone's statements , im sure its all about bragging rights .

I personally dont care about 1st this or that , and I really dont see the point of stripping the car down . Thats not how you drive it around town so to me it doesn't count .
I will say that its just insane how fast everyone has gone in such a small amount of time .

9s are not too far away.

Awesome. Would love to see a mod list, what fuel you were running, how much timing etc.

I think shops need to worry about quality instead of who's first. a couple of week or months is not going to make that much difference.. If any 5.0 people are wize they will wait till more info and products get out there. I'm a prime example of not rushing into things and shops. :dead2:

Well look at the bright side, these cars have already been tested far beyond what the average Joe is gonna do to them. The freaking car is barely even out yet. I always hoped that Ford would make a Mustang from the factory that was a competitor to the Ls1, but this little motor gives almost the whole line of ls motor a good run if not out performing. LOL!

I will not be sold on these new cars until Evolution is more open about what they've done with the car. I don't care about the tuning so much yet. All I want to know is current RWHP N/A and race weight. At least give us that much. Obviously the purpose of this is to get 2011 GT owners to come to you for performance upgrades. Would you rather give the full details of all you've done or have disappointed customers when they can't recreate the same results?

What more else do you want? A 10 second 1/4 mile N/A isn't good enough for you? I mean shit, to most muscle heads, 1/4 times rain supreme over HP#'s.

Yeup, if you can run 11.0s then on a 125 shot you can go 9.90s .

That would be insane to think that a stock motor muscle car from the factory can go 9s with a few bolt ons and nitrous.

I too would like to know the race weight and rwhp. That car had to be down near 3000lbs, at least. If its truly just bolt ons and tune, then it means its probably just north of 400rwhp. That should lead you to some guesses as to what weight.

edit: kinda pisses me off that some shops can't at least give a bit more info than "weight reduction and aggressive tune". Like what all was stripped off the car? Obviously the exhaust, and probably the entire interior. I agree with Pete, a stripped out car running the time is not that impressive. That does not really demonstrate how good the motor is.
