2011 & Up Automatic Reliability Issues?

Can anyone tell me is there have been any issues in reliability/strength with the new 6-speed automatic as-is from the factory?

Have these tranny's been able to handle a blown 5.0 putting down 550-600 rwhp?

I am considering graduating to a 2011+ 5.0 and adding an edelbrock blower and want to see what would be at stake...

Got to worry about the pistons more than the trans. The auto is solid and has been proven in some very fast cars.

I have been running 10.30's in mine. No issues so far.

Ford knocked one out of the park with the 6R80 automatic transmission. It has been a major benefit that this transmission was first introduced into Full Sized SUV's and then the F150's before hitting the Mustang. The same basic design is able to pull 12,000lb loads in the F150 behind the Ecoboost 3.5 or 6.2 V8 as well as fit nicely into the Mustang and provide great performance at the strip. I really think that with a couple of tweaks this tranny could be offered in the GT500, which I would jump on in a second.

this aint nothing like the auto they used to put in the Fox Body stangs, they seem to be rock solid

Chris Cruz's KOTS winning ride went 9.4s with the completely stock auto with slicks, built motor and a 2.9 whipple. Granted there was some scarring on the internals when it got upgraded, but its has made at least 100 passes and has been in the 9's since 2010

Performance White, 300A only option is the automatic trans. I stopped to see what they would give me for mine just on a whim and couldn't say no with the deal they made me. They are going to Tenn. first thing in the morning to get it from a dealer down there.
