Aluminator long block 7499
Stock long block 6999

Those were the prices I was quoted. 500 for forged rods and pistons, yea I'm game. That's the only 2 differences in the long blocks. Boss is more because different heads, exhaust cams, forged internals, and intake.

Hang in there, ford will make it right, be thankfull you didn't mod it in anyway, otherwise you could be screwed. Is it only the 11's that are having these issues? Don't think I've heard of any 12's and up. Keep us posted...oh BTW I would be getting those 500 miles on there ASAP

I know I totally wift on it ..:wtf:

:highfive:

I'm confident this will be addressed and James will be taken care of. I hope FORD rectifies whatever is causing this issue however benign they may think it is. It sucks for the car owner to have to go through this ESPECIALLY if you're a Mustang Enthusiast.

I wouldn't worry yet man. IF it you decide you want to do something I have a long block I could split up for you. Sent off the short to you or someone to build it for you.

Yea, that's what I'm thinking it was. I mean, the needles didn't even get to do a sweep... I was in a hurry... :chairfall:

Yeah I tried it and my car didn't skip a beat.

Your #8's gunna pop.

Not likely.

Agreed, I'd see a Boss Short block going in before an Aluminator, simply because the Aluminator is a FRPP Part whereas the Boss Motor is a standard ford production part.

It is typically not Ford's policy to replace a failed production piece with a FRPP piece under any circumstance.

Hey, is there any way you can get the dealership to do a compression test before they rip out the motor and replace it? I'd bet money the #8 cylinder has lost substantial compression...

And jewc, how did all this start? Was it a slow progression or did you just wake up and all the symptoms were there? IE, the stammering startups and smoking?

I drive around 400 miles a week so id say its been a 3.5 week process. What i noticed first was more oil than i had seen before in the JLT. I emptied it out and cleaned it up. The next week i checked it again and it was full. Again same rinse and repeat bs. I checked the oil and it was about 1/2 qt low. Forward to the following week, this time i noticed the smoke at start up which told me to check the JLT, again full. I removed the JLT and put on the factory tube. This time the oil was down about 1 qt. I started watching for smoke and notice it more and more. Two days before taking it to the dealer i checked the oil again, in went the other 1/2 qt. At this time it was full. The next day i decided enough was enough and made an appointment for the dealer. I had it in there the next day.

They are supposed to do a leakdown test next, i believe.
