Me too, they look gawdy.

I really enjoyed the 05-09 body saleen, but it just isn't working for me with the new body. The lines of the 10+ are really sexy to begin with, but all the ABS body plastics are just overboard.

I'm very curious to know about the 5.8L though, that's the biggest cool factor for me with this car.

I do say I'd buy another GT500 before I buy a Saleen with this styling.

I also agree it looks like 2013 tail lights on a 2010-2012 bumper. The "SMS" logo needs to go too. Saleen is a better name.

I agree. SMS sounds like a generic fly-by-night company making cheap fiberglass parts for Chebby trucks.

Those are 2010-2012 modeled bumpers that they are trying to use on a 2013 car. They're saying that the changes Ford made were so minor they didn't warrant a change on their end. Right, and the tail light gap is just a fashion statement then. Also, the 351 is 5.4 based.

I was at the show that those pics were taken yesterday. The only time I noticed that car was in the morning when I saw guys detailing it. And I walked by it quite a few times.

As a long time Saleen fan (had and 89 and now an 05) I am disappointed. It's all carry over body work from SMS and the 10-12 style. I like the non-Steve Saleen designs better than SMS.. much cleaner.

Oh well, no sure how they stay in business with all the specialty factory models that are available. their bread and butter parts department isnt even doing much.... Saleen had it good for a while, but not any more.

Maybe in a different color, and non vert? Way too much "hood-ness" going on with that color/body configuration. I'll hold off til I see a hardtop, in that bronze-ish/copper color they used to have, with a more tasteful wheel for my final judgement.

They did the same thing with the 13's. They used the 10-12 rear fascia with the 13 lights.

I can't stand it either! I don't care how much horsepower it is. It looks just like the rest of the SMS crap that's out there. You would figure they would get the picture with all the SMS cars lying around at dealerships not selling. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised is the car is a 10-12 left over, repainted SMS with 13 tail lights.

It'll probably go by their previous standards and say its 700hp and it'll suppose to be at the wheels but in reality it'll be at the flywheel. Just like they put "McLeod clutches" in all there cars and a "short throw", which is really a block that makes it feel shorter. So yeah, you can expect a bunch of bullshit.

I think Saleen is so desperate right now they would sell to anyone.

You guys really want to know how Saleen does stuff now, look at the photo below. Zoom in on the driver side tail light and how it fits with the bumper. I pointed it out on the Saleen forum and the guy that runs the forum, who is best friends with Steve Saleen, said, "I like the bumper like that, it's a nice conversation piece and gives it character". Really, character? An $80k car is not a conversation piece enough, it has to have a fucked up bumper that doesn't fit to be a conversation piece....
