Cam, whats up with the grille? It looks nothing like the sport one on the builder.

Not sure what you mean, it is a XL with the Appearance/XL Sport package.

edit: just made one on the configurator - looks the same on my screen.

The XLT sport is different then. Xl on the left, xlt on the right.

It was an XLT Crew 4x4 with the Yote.

Really? A fucking "Yote"? Are we that lazy that we'll try to create some bullshit slang name for the Coyote? Just called it what it is a Coyote, or simply a 5.0.

2.7 or 3.5 is my hold up? Which is better and why?

Both are great. The 2.7 does better on gas. The great thing is the 2.7 will tow my enclosed car trailer 10 times a year and get 25 mpg empty. It can fill the need between a full tow truck and a commuter very well. (I am in outside sales)

If I pulled 5000+ on a weekly basis I would get the (Big Block) 3.5. Ha Ha.

My step dad's truck just came in. It's a Platinum EcoBoost pretty much loaded.

I delivered it down to his place this morning:

I drove an XLT 4x4 5.5ft bed with the 2.7 EB and let me tell you that truck is way too fucking fast for it's own good. It feels every bit as fast as an 11-14 3.5 EB of similar configuration. The truck feels worlds different (better) in just about every aspect compared to driving my 2013. A 2015 with the 3.5 EB is going to probably be nearly as fast in stock form as my truck is with just a tune. The MPG numbers might not be as high as many of us would have hoped (including me) but the truck is a clear step forward and is only going to get better as new powertrains trickle in.

It was in the single digits when I remembered to check (it has been running a lot according to the salesman and had been driven a ton too because it was the first and only 2015 F150 on the lot). I reset when I got on the highway and made a loop around the airport bypass and got 23.5mpg. Far from scientific, but I was impressed all things considered. The only thing I couldn't figure out is that the auto stop/start wasn't working. The feature wasn't turned off, but there was a little light saying it wasn't on whenever I stopped. I wonder if that doesn't start working for a few hundred miles or something.

Interesting. The 2.7 is what I really want, but I need more real world input on how good it is on mileage. I know I will be getting an extended cab for sure, the wife wants the crew cab. has to have 4x4. So I know i am getting the heaviest possible truck for that engine. But MPG is really important to me, bc most likely I am going to have a nice commute to and from work.

mother of tits that is a good looking truck

How did the headlights look?

They look mean as hell. I'll get some pictures here in a minute. This one has the 3.5L EB with the Max Trailer Tow package. It was about a 40 mile drive down to his place, with multiple cities, hills, and stop signs to contend with and got over 18mpg without even trying. It's easily got 21-23 average in it.

Also, it was one of the best driving vehicles I've ever driven.
