I think the redesign will be more radical than that.

I like how half of you are crying about the new redesign yet half of you will be first in line at your local stealership for a new one.

Once again, a rendering done by someone who can't get his mind off the current Mustang, and who is not at all affiliated with Ford.

It's been clearly stated by Ford that the next generation Mustang won't be a retro design, which this one clearly is. So I'd consider this rendering about as accurate as a picture of a zebra smoking a cigarette.

You can see alot of change from the original half, but even that isn't quite original as I brought the whole grill down a bit, recessed it, lengthened the nose and dropped the valance a touch along with the reforming. Fenders flow in and down lower, cowl is spread out....lots of subtlety.

I don't like the new renderings. They're too much like an import sports car than a true American mustang muscle car. With that said though, I'd have no idea how to get away from the current retro styling and still appeal to the masses...it will be a tough one for them.

The Mustang is not a muscle car. I'll repeat it is not a muscle car. It is a pony car. There is a difference.

That said people keep saying the renderings are not "true American", or some shit, designs. Someone please define what makes a design "true American".

Fords moving to appeal to an international body of enthusiasts. If it looks as such, it's probably because that's the point.

The things that have made a Mustang a Mustang throughout the years are a long hood, short decklid, 2 door, RWD and has a V8. That is what makes a Mustang a Mustang. Hell the SN95/New Edges wih their curved lines don't make them look like a Mustang at all yet they still are.
