2013 Ford Flex area with Battery Removed
View attachment 115597
I'm not seeing it personally.
As for the Mustang. I watched a few solenoid replacement videos, and I didn't see anything related to this part in the removal of the air intake and then the valve cover. the only thing that remotely looks like it was related to it was a bracket for an oil catch can. Though, in the video, it looked like an aftermarket bracket. I would check the Flex more closely.
Or take a wet rag, wipe down the part and see if you see a part number pressed into it.

Thank you, Sir!To me it looks like a bracket that was used as an electric cable tray or a bumper/splashguard attachment bracket? It doesn't look like its a critical part of the car. Maybe a radiator support bracket?
And thank you, too, Sir!It's now officially a quest, lol. Like (probably) numerous others, I have spent time trying to identify this part.
It is stock except for the few bolt on bling parts Lol, its all I could afford at the time. No fancy cams or forged bottom ends in that avatarKev555,
If there's a stamped number on that mystery part, it has to be traceable by some soul at Ford. I'm glad the 2016 EB Mustang lady had a sharp mechanic who tracked down the right part. Lightning can strike twice.
That's a nice looking piece of machinery in your avatar. Not quite stock...
Thanks for the post, too.
Chris

That guess sounds very close to me. Either the earth or live lead possibly sits on this? That looks like part of the battery hold down on the Flex. I have seen that exact bracket before, send like it was on the battery.
