I know this has been brought up in the past. Some say no issues, some say they wouldn’t do it. I’m looking to put these on just the rears and leave the front 255s. I don’t really autocross or drag race. It’s just for looks. Just looking for people that have done it and their opinion. My car is a 2010 track pack btw.

285/35/19 will "fit" on a 19x9 but will have sidewall bulge and you really won't put down that 285 contact patch since the bulge will curve the tread upwards toward the wheel.

A 285/40/19 will fit better since the taller sidewall will create less bulge.

Look into 275/40/19.

I hear what you’re saying. But the 285/35s will give me the same diameter as stock. I don’t mind a little bulge. I don’t like how “tucked in” the rear wheels look with the stock 255s

Run a 275/40 with a 20mm spacer.

A 275/40-19 would be the best option of those presented so far on the 19x9" wheel. But as you mentioned, it is not ideal by any means, nor will it achieve the "look" you're after of the rear wheels no longer being tucked in. It's only marginally wider than a 255 would be once squeezed onto the 9" wide wheel.

You should get extended wheel studs and a 15-20mm spacer like Gabe mentioned if all you want to do is fill out the rear look and stick with the 255. That will leave you with a rotatable setup that extends tire life, and the flush look out back.

Or you could go get some 9.5” wheels from one of the major online retailer shows for about $130 each with proper offset.

This will get the whole assembly outboard more without messing with spacers and studs.

Even with 9.5s, 275 is about it for width, but 285 is fine if you must. But you likely won’t find performance gains.

Another thing is I really like the stock 5 spoke 19s. I guess I could try the spacer option and leave the tires.

How much spacer can I add without messing with the studs?

0mm on the rears..and 3mm max on the fronts. Rear oem studs are shorter than oem front studs.

You would have to replace the rear studs with longer ones. I see on steeda's site, that they list ARP rear
( and also front) in 2 x different lengths....like aprx 2.5" and also aprx 3". Again, the rear "3" studs are a bit shorter than the front "3" studs........and ditto with the shorter "2.5" studs.
