3650 5th Gear

Does anyone know if someone out there is machining a usable 5th gear for the race track? .74 is all that is offered, unlike some other transmissions with a .82 or .84, the 3650 does not have that available. Changing from a stock .68 to a .74 isn't going to make a lot of difference. I want to make 5th gear a REAL gear & not a Highway/Overdrive Gear.

I'm afraid if I change my rear gear to a 4:10, 1st & 2nd will be useless.

I was told there was a company in Florida that machined gears but the guy who told me couldn't remember who it was??? (maybe in Sarasota)

Does anyone have expierence with the different gear ratio's?

i can't imagine powershifting into 5th....the pro50 in my car is great 1 thru 4, but going into 5 is a different story

or are we not talking about drag racing?

The car has a 3:55 rear gear right now. I would like to swap for the 4:10 for acceleration off the corners, but that is going to limit my top speed unless 5th gear becomes usable with the 4:10/.74. Right now, with the 3:55, it won't pull itself out of a hole. It bogs-down.

I'm looking for someone who has a 4:10 that uses 5th gear to validate whether or not the car will continue to accelerate if 5th gear.

The application is for Road Racing.
