Hey guys,
Getting around to chasing down a rattle or some kind of noise in my '11 5.0. In any other motor, I would be chasing what sounds like a bit of valve noise. Only comes on around 2500-3200 rpm, only when I'm light on the throttle, and i can make it go away by pedaling the throttle on/off. No change with fresh oil.
I have done some searching and haven't found anything related other than the idle tick. Added 15k to the clock in the last 6 months and it still runs just a great as when I got it with 53k on it -- currently at 68k
6 speed manual, only mods I'm aware of is the Magnaflow Street axle backs and a Steeda (medium compound) shifter bushing. Runs like it should and I can squeeze out some serious MPGs with my last run to NC netted 28.7mpg running at least 10 over the limit the entire trip.
Next on my list is to pull the coil covers off, check/zip tie a bunch of other stuff up tight, and see if it makes any difference.
Any input is appreciated.
