My neighbor has a 460 in his fox body but it's a track only car. Nothing special, just reliable and consistent 11.50 car. The guy who works on my mustang from time to time is a die hard Ford guy with 2 Ford powered dragsters and he knows those 460 motors like the back of his hand.

If you need any help drop me a PM and I'll get you his contact info. He's in the same town as me in NJ...Williamstown.

What do you need to know? Summit and Jegs both used to offer conversion kits for doing this. It came with headers, oil pan, and motor mounts. I would also recommend doing a tubular front k member for easy access to working on stuff.

its been done alot, check out youtube, these some cars running stupid times with motors people claim are pretty much stock. Have always wanted to do this swap myself, id do a 514 though instead of the stock 460.

A few years ago, I put a 514 in a 85 Mustang GT, it's a very easy swap. If you plan on using the stock hood, you have to use a low dual plane intake.

Or Google K-member spacers to use with your tubular k-member. There is a guy in FL or TX that makes 1.5" spacers that allows a 2.5" cowl hood to be used on a 460 with a big Victor type intake.

I have been researching this very project myself recently.

EDIT: I googled it for you... fordifiedracing.homestead.com/kitinfo.html

I saw one this weekend at a local car show. Looks easy - I'd love to have one as a project car.
