Curious as to what works best for you 5.0 A6 guys with basic mods and on street tires. I just have a tune and exhaust, and in the past (before the tune) launching at idle seemed to work best for me. Just hooked, and went! I tried around 1100ish and then around 1300ish and 1100 didn't help my 60' and 1300 started to spin a little. When I go to my track I only get a few passes in, so I can't experiment too much. Should I try 800-900 or just stick with idle?

Any input would be great!

LOL, I have no need to know about your vagina Mr. 3V driver. :gay:

I had an '11 before this one with the MT-82 and it was a total POS tranny, and Ford couldn't fix it correctly. They gave me full retail and allowed me to trade my car in and I swapped it out for an '11 with the 6R80. My other car is a manual, so I have that if I want to row gears, which I do prefer. But I wasn't going to touch another MT-82 with a 10 foot pole! Thankfully these autos are super strong and with a good tune are animals.

From what I am hearing that isn't going to me the case. My car dead hooked at my track before the tune, and my tuner went as quick as 12.1 on stock suspension and stock tires before swapping out to slicks/skinnies. The autos come out of the hole pretty good actually if the track is prepped, my old manual was much, much more tricky to launch.

LOL i have an auto and it wheel hopped like a motherfucker out of the hole. I put slicks on it and it was much worse. Added lca's and a uca and kissed the wheel hop goodbye. Wheel hop leads to twisted axle tubes.

I've never had one bit of axle hop on the street or track, none of my buddies have either. I know a few manual guys that do though. Odd that you did...unless you have big power?
