I'd like to get as much out as I can and draining at the radiator gets 1/3 at most. I have read you can remove the lower radiator hose and then run the car briefly to get a lot more out. Never done this before so am not sure on the process.

Does the thermostat need to come out for this to work? How long should the engine need to run for it to pump the fluid out the lower hose?

Or you could remove the thermostat and use a garden hose to back flush the heater core and block. Id do that over running the car briefly.

Sounds like the thermostat would need to come out then? If I want to try a gravity flush then where do you add the water from? Thanks
