50F on A/C max, cold enough?

I guess the AC is getting weak and measured the min air temp at the vents. I got 50F with 83F outside.

What is the minimum expected air temperature ?

Approximately 20 degrees below ambient temp is acceptable. We have become accustom to 35-40 out of the vents though.

Fords have excellent AC systems when properly working... my 05' GT is anywhere from 38-42. I have a thermometer the AC vent.

My Taurus AC gets down to mid 30 when on the highway... NICE AND COLD!

Use this chart to see what your left center vent is outputting. You need to take temperature and humidity into account.

I also wouldn't just fill your system blindly unless you have a manifold set to check high and low pressures while operating.

Correct. It is very easy to overfill a system and cause more issues. Excessive AC Head pressure can cause more issues.

According to this table I'm right on the max temp. 25-29, 35-60% -> 10 °C
So I think I can wait with AC service. Never had one so far, so it is a good system.
