Hey guys I am about to pick up a set of the 6 piston gt500 brembos off a 2013 and am curious if there is any place that makes decently priced drilled and slotted rotors for them. I have drilled and slotted power stops on my 14" brembos right now that i like but they dont make them for the 15" brembos. Any help?

The only decent upgrade for the 2013/14 brakes is the FRPP Two-piece rotor upgrade, but cosmetically there is not much different if that is what you are looking for. I have a set of them in a box but don't really think I'll put them on if you are interested.

Like Cam said, all there really is is the Ford Racing two piece rotors. And you're locking at $1,200 or more for the pair. Not the kind of cash I would spend on rotors.

Obviously looks, because slotting the rotors provides no benefits to performance and drilling them makes them prone to cracking.

Just wanted to make sure the OP knows the downsides to those rotors. IMO the drilled w/ slotted rotors look like cheap ebay rotors but to each his own.

i dont even really need them for performance, the brembos that are on the car are sufficient enough for me. My buddy picked up a set of them on craigslist and they are just so fucking massive I want them lol. The guy has two sets and he wants 650 for the last set. If you guys are truly interested id let mine go for 450 if I get the new ones.

Hey! Let Ferrari and Porsche know this, cuz those dumb motherfuckers are drilling and slotting their most current carbon break systems!

I've personally seen a drilled rotor fail at the racetrack. Firebird main here in Phoenix. It was scary as hell. Oh, and if you don't believe it happens, do a simple Google search. There are pics all over the web. This isn't internet lore, this is well-established fact for a very long time. Please move on.

There is a huge difference between a rotor that is cast with holes and one that has holes drilled. The high end ones are cast with holes and do a good job at dispersing heat and should not fail. However ones that are drilled after being cast are purely for looks. They will crack and fail under track conditions

If we're saying look out for cheap aftermarket rotors drilled and resold as performance products, I can agree. But to say drilled and slotted as a whole is junk without specifying is only half the story.

Do those look like $150 slotted rotors from Autozone to you?

Please, just stop. Move on.

What? lol, the advice was to avoid drilled and slotted rotors because they fail. What's your point?

4piston brembos, rotors and pads, $450? I'll take them. (While they argue over drilled holes) ;)
