I read on another forum that Performance Automatic has a 6R80 controller at Sema this year. I then found this link to their catalog and on page 10 it list the 6R80 package in a standalone configuration. I thought I'd pass it along.
Thanks Mike

KenB over on the bullet is saying they sell as a package with a HP rating lower than stock, for what it's worth.

Well that explains why the controller isn't listed in the catalog only a package. Oh well maybe someday...

Called and talked with them about it a few weeks ago, they are selling the controller separate. Supposed to be released this month. Got put on a damn list to be contacted when they are ready.

I didn't want anything to do with their transmission. I will try their controller though.

summit already has the packages listed too.

Does this change the game for us 3v owners? I wish they would take it a little farther and create a dedicated complete swap package for the 05-10 cars

Don't really see the point in paying $15,000+ for that package,, People have been stripping the powertrain from a donor car for half that.

One of the guys I work with is big into HP Tuners and he's fairly confident we can install a 6R and wiring harness from a 3v truck into my car.

If Performance Automatic doesn't release their 6R80 controller as a standalone version in the next 3--4 months we'll try that.

I agree with that, I was thinking about an aluminator longblock combined with the trans and control part of that. They were selling these forged coyote longblocks for about 8K and add the trans and control pack 15K wouldn't be out of consideration for me. My friend just got in his Freddy Brown 4R70W conversion for his 4.6. That alone is 8K.

Now it seems funny that when I go to AM & LMR they don't show those Aluminators anymore in the 2011-2014.? Yet in the 2015-16 they show the same engines for more money. Here I found 2011-14 Aluminator crate that used to be advertised in AM, priced like it use to be.

The extra A in the part # cost an additional $2,000.00

I may be getting this all wrong I don't know, it feels like playing chess when trying to get a good deal swapping a Coyote/Auto into a 3v.

Somebody at AM is on drugs. They list the 9.5:1 CR blower version of the aluminator at way less $$. http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-aluminator-engine-sc-2015gt.html

3 yrs ago, the 11:1 aluminator was listed at $6800.00

Only issue is this module is meant for swapping into pre-OBD2 cars. There is no support for emissions ( can't pass smog on a newer car). And there is probably no way to interface body / ABS/ SRS modules without rewiring the whole car to newer (2011+ CAN / BUS).

The module I listed has a obd2 port for ease of tuningc. But where I am located we have not checks so it really don't matter.

The module has a diagnostic port, but the PCM does not support emissions related testing ( all catalytic converter tests / codes are disabled). So installing this in a post-1996 car is a no-no, unless for track use only.
