For those who upgraded to 8-rib, please tell me the EXACT what pulley you used.

Been searching and yea though there is a ton of info everything is using something different.

I'm so tried of this conversion wish I never started. The two clutched pulleys I sourced touch the alternator's housing.

Outer most left is Oversize Clutched 8-rib Pulley, then is stock sized 8-rib clutched, and right is stock 6-rib:

6g alternator doesn't use a clutched pulley. I sold my 8 rib kit but there was a Navigator 8 rib pulley in there for the alternator (my alternator was a Denso with a different size drive shaft). Sam or Steve can get you the part number.

I think my Motorcraft is a 6G (2007 GT) and the pulley I pulled off was clutched.

If that's what I have, I can certainly go take some pics of it for you guys.

To the OP - would dismantling the alternator and relieving the housing leave you with a pulley in line with the rest?

I switched to 8 rib about 2 years ago. Had to make a spacer to locate pulley same distance from alternator as stock 6 rib pulley.

I ended up cracking the alternator housing by testing different washers so I went to a local alternator shop and bought a reman unit and they had a OD 8-rib non-clutch pulley and put it free of charger.

Haven't ran the car yet but quick startup it was good.

I think the pulley rubbing weaken that area and I guess the washer I used had a slightly bigger OD and my using an impact gun and tightening the pulley it jammed it in and cracked.
